I've always found them more of a gimmick than a real band.

How are they live on stage? I saw a few videos, they look energetic.

It's amazing how the cellos sound live, they sound like palm-muted distorted guitars. Crushing sound. :dio:

But, as I said previously, they DO tend to get boring after 15 or 20 minutes. Except when they're playing covers of out favourite classics...

I hope they do some covers of Maiden and Priest. There's a few Maiden songs which imo would sound great with Apocalytica. Hallowed be thy Name, Trooper etc.

To kinda echo the thread theme, yeah, they're ok and it's refreshing to hear a new take on classics and metal, but they're not a thing to play often. In the end, Apocalyptica's only future use is to play to your mates for a few second demo of each tune to show their novelty

I find them very unique. If they were only to cover songs then i think i's like them a little less, but considering that they have their own stuff then thats pretty awesome. But i'm not a big fan of the album with that girl singing...

Gotta agree about the cover's. i dont feel personally that their covers compare with their own works. still a fresh band worthy of a few spins now and again.

I've only heard Cult, and like it.
