Thanks, man :dio:

I was a bit hesitant in picking both albums but after listening to them I'm glad I did.

Man, I tried to like Fragile, but outside of Roundabout, it just wasn't for me. Those solo pieces felt like total filler so the album wouldn't be just three songs, IMO.

The Yes Album, which I heard first I found to be a real keeper. That album completely made my expectations of Yes way too high. I didn't really like CTTE much other than Siberian Khatru and that's supposed to be their masterpiece.

Humm... Well, these two albums are considered masterpieces in the progressive rock genre, but it definitely isn't for everyone even though they are masterpieces in so many ways. It's always a matter of opinion I suppose.

I love how Testament only got heavier with the years. Great album.

Savatage - Gutter Ballet
Shining - In the Kingdom of Kitsch You Will Be a Monster
Mortification - Scrolls of the Megilloth

Indeed. Heavier, better production, and more technical. It's really great stuff. I also like what I've heard from the Shinning album.

^^ That looks like a quality purchase although I'm not familiar with the brand.

Not a standard brand. Had to go to a specialist audio shop. We used to use Denon CD players at the radio station I used to be a presenter for. Good stuff and really reliable given the usage it got.

We compared it to an equivalent Yamaha stereo, and the Yamaha sounded tinny in comparison.

Oh really? well, That's a very good sign, then. Happy listening, dude :D

If I were spending 850$ I'd probably go for separate amp/CD player/speakers but that looks pretty nice too.

I got lucky. I bought my mother's tower speakers that I grew up with for 100 bucks. I think I paid 40 bucks for the amp which is pretty good once you rip out the cheap ass IC-based pre-amp.

I don't think I have more than 500 bucks worth of gear total to be honest. As long as I have my Sony reference monitors to know what's real and what's bullshit, I'm satisfied.

I'm extremely happy with my cheap shit myself.

Nice to see you got something you like dead1.

Don't ever let any asshole tell you your equipment is not good enough because they need to justify the price tag of their overpriced junk they will never be happy with. That is seriously what some people do when confronted with someone else's new equipment. Don't buy the hype. :D

I had a Denon amplifier for years, good stuff.
