Kamelot -- The Black Halo

Best purchase there :dio:

It kinda baffled me how long I've put off buying that. I figured it was about time.

Fuck, even I bought that and I generally dislike power metal.

Feeling guilty for never buying any music anymore. Keep saying I'm gonna do the vinyl thing, but that's not an appealing option until I have a semi-permanent residence so I can invest in a solid record player set-up. Maybe I'm just deluding myself.

More bands should have bandcamp and charge $7 for their albums. That's much more appealing.

I've been kind of thinking of switch to buying downloads lately since I hardly ever sit down with records... mostly just haven't been buying much music. Except the last couple weeks I've bought maybe 8 albums.

today: Northern - Northern
cool local instrumental Pelican style band whose album I couldn't find on the internet.

Great stuff, one of my favorite bands.
Is it the version with the "For Funerals" EP on it ?
Because I really like the song "Funeral Wedding"

It certainly is. I have Brave Yester days and their boxset but needed this album to complete my collection :D.

I also have those the only one I'm missing is Dance of December
souls, but for some reason I always manage to find other things to buy.

Haven't heard Brave Day Murder in years. I remember I liked the Brave song a lot, especially the middle part, with its spine-chilling shrieks and ethereal guitars. Good stuff.

Hmm... It's an essential album. I'm also looking more into what I thought wasn't very good in old Paradise Lost. I'm also giving their latest another chance; it was good but I sort of over looked it.

I haven't heard Old Katatonia in such a long time! But I'm rediscovering my love for it. It's very good stuff.

Atheist - Jupiter

Bloodbath - The Fathomless Mastery

Dimmu Borgir - Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (finally got it after planning to get it since about 1999)

Fear Factory - Mechanize
Immolation - Majesty and Decay

DVD Monsters of Metal Vol 6 - great for when you're doing a bit of ironing or drinking beer - don't do both at the same time.

I thought you didn't like Immolation, it's ok you are wrong old man, now go buy Here in after and all of their other albums.

Genesis - From Genesis to Revelation (1969)
Far from essential but that's the only Genesis I didn't own.

Image
Blo - Chapters And Phrases 1973-1975 (2009)
Psychedelic Afrobeat.

Image
Tom Waits - Nighthawks at the Diner (1975)
This one needs no introdution, me thinks.

Image
Ativin - German Water (1997)
Post/Math Rock.

Image
Faces - A Nod's As Good As A Wink To A Blind Horse (1971)

Excellent album with Rod Stewart on top form.
