Nah, if you don't like Dragonforce then this album won't change your mind one bit, though admittedly Cry Thunder is my least favorite track on the album. There's a lot of variety on the album though (well, for Dragonforce at least), and they seem to have lost their "Pointless wankery = great album" mindset. There are some really great guitar leads here, and they've figured out how to write songs that feel really fast without playing everything at 210 BPM. Probably their best album yet IMO.

Hmm, weird that you three find Towards the Megalith to be so average. I personally love it and I've seen it on several best-of-2011 lists, plus it has a 90% currently on Metal Archives. I definitely think it deserves those honors, but to each their own I suppose.

I've tried to get into this several times but can't seem to get over the singing. He's annoying as hell, and I can't seem to figure out why.

He's annoying the way King Diamond is, yes. But still, it's solid methinks.
