Stefan, Soft Machine, is unorthodox and very interesting. Listening to Third right now. Thank you for the recommendation.

EDIT: this is EXCELLENT. I am placing an order for Third , their debut and Fourth. 20 bucks in total! New!

I just love that vintage sound of the 1970's Prog.

That fool, Steve, he couldn't keep his mouth shut. Knowledgeable, but very foolish (well, and immature, but then again, that's a given!).

Sure it wasn't Gateways, but nothing really wrong with this album.

Not a MA expert, but this is an excellent album in my opinion.

I think it has aged pretty well, perhaps thanks to the less than stellar production.

From the very first riff, you know it's Mares. Let's see if they can keep the riffs quality, being a two-person band that is the trick. First song is really fun, though.

Crusty hardcore.

Image
Dissonant hardcore like a lighter version of Harm's Way.

Image
Thrashy, death-metal influenced hardcore that everyone should go check out. It's so fucking solid. Zad reviewed it, I think it was him anyways. THE RIFFS!!!

Image
It's not amazing but it is still pretty solid. No reason to complain but hasn't topped any prior HoF releases. The production is really awesome (it's Ballou for christ's sake), but it really mellows out the sound. The solos don't stick out like they should and kinda lay in the back like other riffs do. It sounds fine but it doesn't reflect HoF. Bring back Albini for the next one.

It's a travesty that more of you folks don't discuss this amazing death metal band.

They are good, just not a big fan of everything being 3-4 minutes tracks.

Evergrey - Solitude Within

I fucking love this song so much. Their best song, also their best album. Feels like everything since has been progressively worse, I wish they would have built on the sound of that album, it's so cool.

I just stumbled upon some 8 bit Iced Earth songs, man they are like really good

There were a bunch of different songs from different bands on that guys channel, check them out if you're an 8 bit fan.

Good album. Not quite as attached to it as I was to Skyforger, but it seems to be a grower.

I like both albums equally. Damn fine work that I never tire listening to.
