You should've ran up on stage, stolen a guitar and Hammerfall-ed their asses off.

Hammerfellated?

Oh my god. I'm still not done laughing from reading this. So did the rest of the band continue without him or was it like an intermission?

The rest of the band played without him and told racist jokes.

Saw Gojira, LoG and Metallica last night.

Gojira was awesome. Not quite able to utitlize the full stage with all the junk in the way but considering I don't like their albums, I was quite impressed by their live set. LoG blows imo so the only thing I have to say is Blythe is an ugly mother fucker.

As for Metallica, one of the coolest live shows I've ever seen. Just the show and performance itself was epic; the guys are pros. The music wasn't too bad. Hetfield's voice lacked at times; Hammett wasn't abusing the pedals which was nice. I think it's funny how Lars thinks he is a rock star, running around the stage as soon as he finishes a song and looking like a child as he screams at the stage. The best part was how he entirely covered himself with a coat as he left the stage, like he was afraid of the paparazzi. The setlist was standard; Fight Fire with Fire stood out as the only single unexpected choice. Five songs from DM which makes ones a little sad.

The Fall Of Troy are coming here in a few months, hopefully I'll manage to get down there.

Well this past thursday was basically one of the coolest experiences I've ever had. Went to see a band I have never thought in a million years I'd ever be able to see as well as meeting one of the most legendary names I've never expected I'd ever meet.

After the show Attila was just walking around so my buddy had him sign his Black One & Solstitium Fulminate vinyl and we shared a few words. It was one of the more surreal moments I've had in my life.

Saw Municipal Waste last night, in the last stop of their tour. fucking good show.

also there were portuguese acts Mr. Miyagi (thrashy punk, quite fun), We Are The Damned, Prayers of Sanity (very good show, interesting thrash http://www.myspace.com/prayersofsanity) and WAKO (crap).

Anaal fucking Nathrakh. Completely amazing, the crowd interaction was totally priceless and for a miserable nihilistic cunt Dave Hunt is one of the best frontmen I've ever seen.

So I can either go see:

Type O Negative
The Damned
Cannibal Corpse/Hate Eternal
KMFDM

or I can go see:

High on Fire/Mastodon/Converge/Dethklok

Which should I go to? The first set is four different concerts but they cost equal to the HoF concert with travel costs.

Only bad band in the first section is Hate Eternal. They're downright awful live.

Last few gigs for me:
Misery Index/Hate Eternal
Korpiklaani/Unleashed/Die Apocalyptische Reiten/Alestorm/Ex Deo/Swashbuckle
Anathema

Probably a lot more that I have forgotten.

So Protest the Hero is doing a small show here in my hometown of Barrie Ontario. Tickets are only $12. A couple of firends of mine are going, I am by no means a fan of PTH. But for $12 a ticket and cheap beer at the place they are playing. I think I just may go.

Should I? Even though I can't stand their music/singer?

Go, have fun, be social, enjoy what you can out of live music, and maybe get hammered!

Got my ticket to see MASTODON AND CONVERGE. Same show. I'm freaking out...High on Fire and Dethklok will also be playing, and the latter should be interesting at least. But srsly my two favorite bands.
