Great album!^^


Not too bad so far.

After years of continuous play, Slayer has largely left my active playlist, but I can never get enough of Show No Mercy. There's a wild, youthful energy that runs through this record that the band never captured again. Dare I say, a joyful noise.

David Vincent's best vocal performance. Like a mixture of Covenant and Dominations but more brutal.

Got to get my hands on it.

One could argue that his vocals on Altars of Madness are his best to be fair as well though.

Fair enough. The debut and the second are landmark recordings. They have absolutely no rivals, whatsoever. By any measure, any standard.

Further thoughts on the new Vltimas?

Nothing new to report. I do need to spend some more time with it, however.

Good. So much greatness and so little time, I'm afraid.

Taking a great liking to this recording. The darkly-themed lyrical content is authenticated by Glen Danzig's tortured-sounding melodies and the riffage is endorsed by the vocal melodies which creates bleak fantasies which is central to this recording. Vintage and the root of many bands to come. Some of it sounds like latter day Solstafir.

A release of significant qualities which makes it a very pleasing DM listening experience.

I definitely do need a new Voivod. Progressive masters.
