A 2019 release by one of the primary originators of Epic Doom and certainly a release, made with a great deal of taste, sophistication, and moreover, an even greater emphasis on harmony, melody, and rhythm.

By all measures, a sound DM release, but very much closer to gore-grind than anything closely tiable to melodic death, indeed, far away from the Gothenburg sound, however, indeed completely smashing, and heavy-handed. I would have liked a crisper production, which does tarnish the music presented here, giving the impression of an underproduced recording, or rather, a poorly-produced one, at that. The riffs themselves are generally of good quality, although the bass plays an underwhelming role, the vocals are a point of strength, and so is the drum-work. Carcass have existed for a very long time, but in proportion to the duration in which they have been a unit, they have made very little music, which is curious. I remember liking Surgical Steel a lot more than this one. Torn Arteries is next.

Two magnificent and equipped bands intended to rattle your ear-drums and perhaps on shyer devices to deform the essence of whatever it is that you happen to be hearing through.

Sakis's unmatched sensibilities for melody-making, his cultured ears for counterpart harmonies, generating an impression of a timeless and a spaceless mythological atmosphere, which is an immediately recognizable sound, only relatable to RC.
