theres a lot worse stuff going on in the world right now than people downloading music. if i'm going to be judgmental about something it's gonna be one of those things. i feel more guilty about not sending all of the money i don't spend on food/rent to starving african children than i do about not buying all the music i listen to
Sure there's worse things going on, but that isn't the point.
I'm just suggesting that people pay for at least half the music they listen to, is that not fair? Sure we can't all buy 20 cd's a month, but we can at least buy what we can, if not, maybe listen to less music. If it's that important to listen to music to a degree where you can't afford to at least buy half of what you like, then do something else, if its not important enough to care about the musicians involved why is it important enough to listen to at all?
I mean, If an album is not valueble to you at all, why listen to it? if it is valueble to you, why not give something back to the guys (or gals) that made it.
I'm a sound engineer who would like to make a living doing what I love, I can't do that when everyone cares just enough about music spend 5 minutes downloading it because they don't place any intrinsic value in music.
There will never, ever be a way to stop music from being stored digitally, if you can hear it, a mic can pick it up and re-record it, but I guess people just don't care and one day we will all rely on terribly recorded myspace bands to get music because no one wants to finance something they will get no return on.
Doesn't anyone think it is embarrasing that fergie can sell 5 million records, but metal fans that brag about thier love and dedication to music can't even make an album go gold because of a sheer lack of support.
