so I've heard. maybe one day, but right now I really don't care for finding "new" bands. Theres so much that I haven't heard by bands I know that going against my better judgement and listneing to In Flames is not going to happen.

Yeah, recommending In Flames to DevotedWalnut is a bit like recommending cholent to Rob Darken... not really his thing.

Shenanigans, Scar Symmetry are what In Flames could have become if they had dropped Friden for someone with talent. Strombald can write damn good riffs, but I think in the end he just gave up because of the direction the band wanted to go.

Whoracle and Colony were both fine albums, and Clayman had moments, but Reroute to Remain and beyond just jumped off a cliff in terms of credibility. It sounds like they tried to do something decent on their last one, but in the end it just came out weak and uninspired.

All IMO of course.

Funny that you all mention Scar Symmetry, because I tried no later than yesterday to get into this band, by listening to their stuff on Youtube. I failed. I just don't "get" this band.

Regarding In Flames, I actually liked everything they did until Reroute to Remain, included. At the time, I thought "Alright, fine, they are sellouts. But good ones." Now they just don't seem to know what they are doing anymore. That said, I liked ONE track of their last album (was it their last ? I lost track.), "I'm the highway" I think it was called. It was OK.

If you get a chance, try out the title track from Holographic Universe. That is probably the best track they have made so far, and the album as a whole is fantastic.

Yeah I did, it was the first or second one I listened to, actually. It did nothing to me. I'll try again.

If I was a girl, I think I would dig the singer, though. Pretty charismatic guy.

Just read the track by track for the new Morbid Angel album. I think this will not be the return to form that I was hoping for. I is so disappoint :sad: Oh well, there is always Autopsy.
