Opeth -- Damnation

All I need is for Still Life to arrive, and I'll have all of Opeth's studio albums.

Best for last ey? :)

We'll see. That remains the only Opeth album I haven't heard anything from.

Weren't they saying Still Life was second best? I really liked Damnation until I listened to it for a week straight in the car. I quickly found all the flaws in the album.

did you just say Still Life is the second worst Opeth album, or did I get confused?

If the former, you are on crack, and if the latter, never mind.

Thrice--Live at the House of Blues

Really excited to listen to this one. Saw the clip of Firebreather on Youtube or something and it's so awesome.

Deliverance does not suck the peen. It drags in places, sure, and for a long time, but the majority of the album is fantastic. A Fair Judgement is probably the worst song they've written, though.

Ordered:

Katatonia -- Viva Emptiness
The Mars Volta -- Frances The Mute
Warning -- Watching From A Distance

So awesome! They played like my top four favorite songs from The Alchemy Index (Firebreather, Daedalus, The Whaler, The Earth Isn't Humming) and everything is just amazing. A lot of their older stuff that I hadn't heard before was really cool as well--it's basically just punk with metal touches, although I admit it is a lot more compelling coming from Thrice in a live setting. Good interview too, and it's a bargain at regular CD price--no excuse for Thrice fans not to pick it up.

yay. My favorite Mars Volta album and now I have all of them. Although I haven't listened to Amputechture or De-Loused that much...

I hear ya. The latter can be a bit soulless and 'Dimmu-gone-tech' at times.

Having said that, I just wrote a review of it in which I proclaim AoM to be better than it... It probably is, objectively. Fizala is a damn wierd, sick album though, by Cthulhu.
