What's wrong with The Final Cut? That's one of their (or I should say Roger's) most emotional and deepest albums.

Final Cut included is what I meant.

Aside from a few of the bands there not hving released enough albums to qualify, am I really the only person in the world who thinks that Emperor after Anthems are a completely different, ie worse, band? IX was their Reinkaos, imho.

I thought anthems sucked, IX ruled and Prometheus i've listened to only once.

I am going to say Burzum, because there are 6 albums if you include the keyboard albums, and i don't think they suck. Not by a long shot.

Also, Enslaved are possibly the best black metal band ever, since they've put out so many albums, have evolved over the years and still ALWAYS ruled. :dio:

I do live on the underside of the world

though it may have something to do with the fact that IX was my first emperor album. Of course, i also consider everything up to and including Nightside Eclipse to be pure gold.

Good choice. I dunno, possibly Ulver? Not all of their stuff is to my tastes, but it doesn't "suck".

I'm assuming this is a list of bands that have constantly put out music with very high standards. No albums that aren't outstanding.

Rush (18 studio albums)
Hammerfall (6 studio albums)
Disturbed (3 studio albums)
Stone Sour (2 studio albums)
Symphony X (7 studio albums)
Dreamland (2 studio albums)

Also:

*Vision Divine's first two albums are not as good as later work.

*Alice in chains issued EP's as often as albums and the exclusion of thier out takes is baffling considering they were just as good, if not better, than the album cuts. Dirt was no where as good as Facelift and The ST was no where as good as Dirt.

*Pantera's 80's output and thier final 2 albums were not up to the middle-period standards.

*If Godsmack appear to have a consistent catlog, they do, but it is mediocre material.

*Children of Bodom's debut was not as good as thier 2nd or 3rd and thier last album shows a decline.

*King diamond and mercyful fate put out some very unremarkable releases over the years with a strait face due to thier material sounding a lot like past classic albums

*Dream theater have slowly lost thier damn minds. If I had that bands musicial resources, I would be releasing the best albums of all time on an annual basis. I don't know what they are thinking. Maybe they are geniuses that know thier albums will make more sense over the long haul and might remain as timeless as images and words still is 15 years later. let's hope this is what they are doing

*Morifade are bound to dump some piece of shit excuses for a metal album on us any day now. How do I know? the singer from god-awful Rising Faith has joined and everyone else seems to have left the band that made thier earlier albums classics, and they haven't done dick in 4 years.

*Biomechanical's John K has fired the entire band, that said, He will be issuing a mediocre piece of shit of his own soon.

*Dungeon and Lord are two of the best names in metal, but Lord Tim didn't understand that fast-as fuck and groove don't go together well early on. He figured out how to balance the two after a couple of albums.*

That's Hearts on Fire which was released loooong before it became the Olympic song. HammerFall have never done a shitty album, but their last few have been pretty mediocre.

From what I've heard of the new album it sounds pretty good, also John K wrote pretty much all the music so it doesn't really matter that he fired the band.

Really? so he is also like Lord Tim, but not as good in any way?

Sorry if I was wrong, but I was under the impression they were a band, not a solo act with band members.

Yeah... I just read in an interview that John K writes most of everything except for the guitarists's solos. He kinda came across as a control freak lol
