De Profundis and Lacuna Coil coming here this Sunday. Anyone been to their shows? I saw De Profundis open for Maiden and they were good. How is Lacuna Coil live?

Saw Foxy Shazam last night. They 100% lived up to my expectations...Eric Nally is the best frontman in rock. Plus, I fist bumped Nally and talked with Sky White (the keyboardist) after the show. Fucking amazing--anyone who enjoys them should definitely see them live if you have the chance.

There are so many people I would love to see. I just don't like not being able to control the audio quality of what I hear. I love DVD's because they usually sound incredible. The bands I would drop everything to go see aren't likely to show up anywhere close by. I missed out on Rush about 3 times by now. I would just be devastated if they didn't sound incredible and far above my expectations. The setlist is always played out and favorites are usually ignored. I'm a studio guy all the way. My ears don't like concerts very much apparently and if I knew a band was pulling it off, like Angra, I'd be there immediately though. I'd pay a hundred bucks to see Tribuzy again too.

Just think about. Name your favorite albums ever and then name the actual amount of that is actually on the road in it's somewhat original form. There's a ton of bands, but it's unfortunate that so many amazing songs get unplayed to fans desperate to hear them.

If they're a good metal band and the venue doesn't have shitty sound they should sound good. If they don't then they're not a good band.

I saw Rotting Out and Soul Control at a house show yesterday in Lincoln. Both are cali hardcore bands and pretty badass, particularly Rotting Out.

It was your typical house show. College kids, a shitty house, terrible sound, but enjoyable. I got into the pit and sang along with some songs. Good times.

Oh yeah and I schooled the shit out of the Rotting Out bassist on Marvel Vs Capcom 2. That was pretty sweet. They had it up at the house and a few games were played before the show started.

nothing beats a good ole' House hardcore show.
I'm listening to Rotting Out right now, they're pretty good it must have been a lot of fun.

Good news, man. Didn't know anyone else here was a Rotting Out fan. :dio:

No, I mean I am extremely picky about acoustics, speaker placement, volume, tone, ect. I would feel uncomfortable not being ear level with the tweeters or if I were too close or far away or the balance was off because I was way too close to one speaker. If the band is going to drown everything out with loud PA's in mono, I wouldn't be happy.

Wow umm the sound isn't the only reason you go to live shows? If you want the sound perfect and just want to see the band you could just go there and listen to your damn headphones while they're playing.

Blind Guardian last night

Fuck what an awesome night it was. The only letdowns were Otherland, Punishment Divine and Tanelorn. Huge fucking surprises were Another Holy War, Lost in the Twilight Hall and And Then There Was Silence. I was also suprised by how awesome Sacred Worlds was. The chorus blew everyone away. Great start of the show.

Oh yeah, Barbara Ann at the end. FUCK YEAH.

Setlist:

Sacred Worlds
Welcome To Dying
Another Holy War
Nightfall
Fly
Time Stands Still (At The Iron Hill)
Lost In The Twilight Hall
Otherland
A Past And Future Secret
Punishment Divine
Tanelorn (Into the Void)
And Then There Was Silence

# Encore:

Majesty
The Bard's Song - In The Forest
Valhalla
Mirror Mirror
Barbara Ann

Just back from watching Lacuna Coil and here's my verdict. Cristina is a great vocalist. But, Lacuna Coil live = boring . I didn't even like the songs they played. The other guy prancing around the stage like a Monkey waiting for his turn to sing only made things worse. At times, I felt I was in a pop concert. It wasn't all disappointment though. My friend and I reached the place around 5 and got to see a band called Cypher16. They pretty much kicked ass. They also covered Metallica's Creeping Death as the last song. De Profundis, once again were excellent. They really got the crowd going. Unfortunately, they had to cut their set short due to some "technical difficulties." I guess they got to play only 4-5 tracks. I will definitely check out more of Cypher16 and DP.

I know it's too early to post about it as the Testament show got cancelled after it was announced months before. But, what the heck, Enslaved and Meshuggah in December :dio: .

I respect him in every aspect, he's a fucking virtuoso. His music is just not my dig. However, I do say this about tons of bands who I eventually like...and I was mainly there for Clutch.
