Metal Hammer is allright, really, once you accept it is not going to be as in depth or knowledgable as Terrorizer. It's kind of aimed at noobs though.

Yes, and people who think that calling a band Machine Fucking Head makes them cooler. I should start putting Oh Fucking Peth in my reviews to get a wider readership.

Two things have suddenly made me rather wary of the new Satyricon album.

One: hearing the first single. It might be a grower, but if you thought K.I.N.G was bad… could only bear to listen twice.
Two: Satyr’s on the cover of Kerrang! :lame:

I don't care what you say, it's gonna be good. Love Satyricon.

According to the latest Terrorizer (hurrah!) newsletter, they have the new Napalm Death album and it's a beast. :D

I still think Decibel is the better magazine.

i've always avoided like actual magazines about music because one time i was reading some "top 100" rock albums in one and Converge - Jane Doe in it and they had some silly description like "a vicious lament to lost love sung by a thousand angels as they spiral into the inferno"

Hahaha

Decibel actually has a "Hall Of Fame" series where they talk about classic albums, and Jane Doe is one of them. It's a good article, and they get the band to talk about the album, I really liked it.

New Slayer forthcoming. Is good news.

I downloaded the entire song, quite surprisingly good. As I said earlier, Tom's voice is a little annoying at times but all in all tihs song kicks ass.

Where did you find it?

I google blog searched it. Downloaded a zip file of it. Good song.

The new Terrorizer informs me that Anaal Nathrakh have finished writing their new album, and it should be out June. You'd never have gotten that from Decibel!

Does that seem quick to anyone else? I'm so fucking excited nonetheless.

Anaal Nathrakh are terrozier whores :P

If they take a shit terrorizer reports on it :P

(also: good)

(also: I think they have some weird plan with putting out records, since its not like they're putting them out because they have too much musical creativity.......)

(also: the fact that the last two sounded almost exactly the same is not a bad thing)

Dir En Grey - Uroboros is coming. I've heard the leak and had mixed feelings about it. They've definitely gotten softer, not much growling. But their softer stuff was good too so I hope it's a grower. Amazing band.

Fuck yes they are. I'm seeing them tomorrow. And I'm picking up Uroboros there too.

I was expecting it to be all soft, from what I've heard from interviews, Dozing Green and Glass Skin, but there are some downright furious moments in there. Wow.

It might very well be my top 2008 pick.
