Kevin Sharp has replaced Tomas Lindberg in Lock-Up. That's pretty good news, considering Brutal Truth have split...

I realized yesterday that there's a fairly continuous line in my taste in music from Orchid to Converge to Blood Command to At the Drive-In to Paramore to Taylor Swift

It's taken me a while to figure out, but Alice in Chains might be my second favourite band (after Rush) given their restorative properties after drunken miserableness.

The vocal harmonies perhaps? Haunting yet strangely uplifting at the same time. The best of the grunge bunch by far.

Without a doubt. Not quite as fond of the post-Staley material, but still greatly appreciate the efforts. Dirt and Jar of Flies were basically perfect recordings.

You're right. They're good albums for sure, along with Cantrell's solo work, but they just don't measure up to the 90's Chains stuff. Staley was such a huge part of that band that it was going to be a near impossible task to replace him. He and Jerry harmonized so well that they were like the Eagles of grunge, but with way more grit and integrity. The rock world lost a great voice when Layne died. After watching some of their old videos, you can definitely trace his physical decline from Man In the Box up through the band's MTV Unplugged performance in '96. A cautionary tale if there ever was one.

Fun commercial from Finland. I'd like to catch Abbath's reaction to this.
