Wasnt Black Label Society at that show too?

Yeah, but I'm not a fan so I skipped out early.

bah

Zakk Wylde owns your face

I respect him in every aspect, he's a fucking virtuoso. His music is just not my dig. However, I do say this about tons of bands who I eventually like...and I was mainly there for Clutch.

Going to that same show in two weeks, and I definitely won't be skipping out before BLS comes on.

LIES

I skipped out during, not before.

I went to see Amorphis, Orphaned Land and Ghost Brigade yesterday, with my dad and my brother of all people.
Ghost Brigade were the first band of the evening. I didn't really know them, except for a few songs. My brother is a huge fan and after the first song I understood why. What these guys lack on record, they make up on stage. They're actually a great band and I recommend everyone to give them a chance.
Orphaned Land was next. They put on a great show and I enjoyed myself a lot, except for one little incident. Now, it was pretty clear from the start that most people were there to see Amorphis. Nothing wrong with that ofcourse, they're a great band. During Orphaned Land, there was a Dutch couple standing right in front of me. It was pretty clear that they had never heard of Orphaned Land and they did not enjoy the music. It all comes down to personal taste obviously, so I just ignored them and enjoyed the show. But suddenly, just when "Sapari" ended, that Dutch guy said "Go home, don't you have some Palestinians to suppress?!". Not wanting to make a scene I just kept my mouth shut but I would have gladly punched the guy in the face. Only a few minutes later his girlfriend started playing a game on her cellphone. As I said earlier, I don't mind if someone doesn't like the music, to each his own. But it's this lack of respect which I can't stand. But besides those two morons I had a great time watching Orphaned Land. They even had a bellydancer.
Amorphis closed the evening. The first song was kind of weak, as if they were just warming up. But by the second and third song they were firing on all cylinders. They mainly played songs of Skyforger, some fan favourites and a few old songs.
Overall I had a great night. It was the first concert I went to in months and afterwards I wondered why.

Ghost Brigade are a great band. Reviewed their last two albums, and did an interview for them for this site - they're quite big in their native Finland, got into the charts for five weeks and everything. Shame more people haven't heard of them elsewhere...

I saw Jonsi live. He is really really good, and now I really really want to see Sigur Ros live.

Forbidden, Evile, Gama Bomb, and Bonded by Blood on tuesday!

would be better if we could drop one of the new bands and replace with an older band. Like, for example, drop Evile and add Heathen. Nice.

Second that, everyone was really into it including me. I haven't cheered that long and loud for a while. Not every band can do that to me.

Holy Grail was awesome as well, I wonder why I had never heard of them before this?

Conducting from the Grave - Eh.

Powerglove - Fucking awesome live

Arsis - I've missed seeing them something like four times, and unfortunately I wish that this time could have been better. Their sound was really muddy, which was odd because all the other bands sounded fine on that end. They did play Sadistic Motives Behind Bereavement Letters or whatever the song is called, which has one of my favorite breakdowns in it, so that was cool. Their set seemed rather short, too. I got a t-shirt, the front of which is neat. The back advertises a European tour (I saw them in Michigan), so I guess I got some of their overstock. If anyone asks, I'll claim to have seen them in Madrid.
