Haha they are pretty gay but they won me over live several years back and I've been a huge fan ever since, particularly of the last 3 albums.

Torn was a great return to form but IMO Recreation Day and In Search of Truth are their masterpieces

I thought about posting this but I couldn't find a cover, so I didn't bother.
Emissaries was killer so I'm definitely looking forward to this.

James LaBrie has a new solo album coming out soon. First track up:

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... mID=143627

And it's rather good! Prog Metal meets Melodeath.

Better than I expected. I love DT, but the solo stuff I've heard from LaBrie never really impressed me.

It sounds pretty good... then again, who knows if we'll get another one of these pieces of shit:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHMGdQGVqMw

EDIT: also, "We wanted to have a drastic contrast between what's going on in the verses and what's going on in the choruses."

Holy shit! What a musical pioneer James LaBrie is! To think... heavy verses mixed in with more poppy, cleanly sung choruses? I'm just blown away by the creativity.

Haha, thanks for the link to that garbage. Labrie always prevented me from truly embracing DT.

Oh James. I still have my doubts. Yeah that song is good, but after his last one I am very skeptical.

Ehhh.. neither of these songs sound very good. Very mainstream, even for Volbeat. Hopefully the rest of the album is faster / heavier.

Hopefully it's something a bit more interesting this time around. Really was disappointed with Starve.

Well, do you like old-school black metal that kicks ass and takes names? Surprised more people haven't heard of these guys, they made one of the best Black Metal videos ever

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4yRIf9XLrU

up there with Immortal's finest.

Awesome.
Always liked their straightforward no bullshit approach.

Their song titles can be pretty out there, though...

I'm not sure if this has been posted already.
New Enslaved, Axioma Ethica Odini, out on September 27th.
