The new Pensées Nocturnes, consisting of a 55-minute song.

Theres a medley of stuff from this at the official site:

http://pnrecords.free.fr/index

Sounds similar to Vacuum and Grotesque, but taken up another level of intensity, like how Grotesque outdid Vacuum.

Didn't love their last album. Should give it another listen. Great artwork though.

I don't think anyone expected this kind of artwork.
I don't dislike it, I'm surprised/shocked/intrigued. It reminds me a lot of those psychedelich rock covers from the seventies.

I love it all except those heads in the tree, look badly photoshopped.

Their obsession with their faces on things annoys me. Like this and the bloodbath cover, and some random shirts I've seen.

And the special edition of Watershed I think.
I definitely agree about the faces. Without them it would've been a pretty badass cover art.

Looks like something from the 60's.

The heads are goofy, and the line of people is unnecessary.

So is the burning city, actually. The album art would be so much better if it didn't have so much going on. That's what bugs me about a lot of Metal album art.

TOO MUCH GOIN' ON, MANG

Unconfirmed report from listening session for new Opeth is that it's completely Death Metal-less, no growls. Very 70s, Purple, Floyd, Rainbow, proggy hard rock but brilliant. Sounds great to me...

I guess I saw this coming. It makes me mad, but I'll still probably like it.

Might be interesting in a way, if it sounds anything like Rainbow.

If one band can pull it off, it's Opeth. I do hope that they'll get back to the growling at one point.

Ooooh. If it has some Coil moments i may love it. I like Damnation so this may not be a stretch. Color me intrigued.

Rayner Coss is back in Mithras! Those who hate the new Morbid Angel can expect some consolation early next year.
