Finishing off soon

First exposed to mid-year, and listened to, many times over and with great pleasure. But a much and long break needed from Mr. Burrell makes this listening session different, as nothing remains static in life, and in pleasure, even within short spans of time, though, it does feel like years have gone by. A brilliant blues/jazz release, timeless, for its heart-felt melodicism, and vital, and even-keeled energy, and for its rhythmic excellence.

A high caliber live performance, by Burrell, Blakey and Co., making this recording, a highly valued release.

Any introductory remark would be a great offence to the legacy and to the immortality of that angelic and this singular divine face of seamless, elegant, untarnishable, this gentle mightiness.

Late November, large quantities of snow on the ground, Mr. Montgomery's virtuosic capacities move alongside with the constancies of the snowfall, as Winter Solstice draws nearer.

Released in 1965, a Trio that never had an equal, even during the heights of the American jazz age, amongst many others.

A return to some of the earlier recordings from mid-year/last three quarters of 2024.

In session with this recording from morning time until now and sometime in the afternoon before I change to something else. Hope all's well.

Certainly not the kind of jazz release to get comfortable with, but to be challenged by, to a considerable degree.

Agreed, I'm fond of it, but don't find myself listening to that one nearly as much as some other jazz classics. Regarding your other posts, I need to listen to more Grant Green! Added to my list for the next week.

new Linkin Park.

What did you think husker? I'm not a fan so it met my low expectations. Actually exceeded them because Casualty (great drumming) was such a pleasant surprise.

NP This past week-
I've been listening to The Lounge Lizards (fun take on rockish jazz), Nick Drake (latecomer to him, but enjoyed his works), Nico (I still like her harmonium records), Dälek (not generally fond of hip hop, but appreciate the very unusual instrumentation) plus continuing to listen to young bands like the folk tinged indie rock of Lowertown/Olivia O and country tinged indie rock of Wednesday/Slow Pulp.

Great to see you around, Brett. Yes, Dolphy not only made very unusual music even for jazz, but also had a very tragic life. Also, Green is a jewel. Give Feelin' The Spirit a listen. And Husker's playlist has given me a good chance to reacquaint myself with some timeless metal releases. I like Nick Drake. He was an influence on the great Åkerfeldt in the past, for he has spoken about him, in long passed interviews very fondly.

One of Dolphy's greater performances is on this terrific jazz recording which was reaching the peak of jazz in the early 60's:

The line-up is stellar.

I was never the biggest LInkin Park fan either but when they come on the radio when I'm driving I didn't mind hearing it. The new one was enjoyable. The new vocalist fits the band well.

It was long ago and it was far away and it was so much better than it is today.

That's a great looking cover. I don't think I have listened to any Meat Loaf in any near, and recent memory.
