I don't like Iron Maiden as much as I feel I should. Seventh Son kicks ass though.

I'm so bloody sick of all the bands ripping off Neurosis that I just can't get into them.

har, besides Neurosis...
Nevermore - when they're fast (like in parts of songs like My Acid Words and I, Voyager) they really kill, but most of the time they are just too slow, or only have an awesome riff come up at the start of a song and never again.

Suffocation - don't know, it just doesn't click. it sounds like one big mess to me. i mean, lots of respect and all, but i don't like them.

Kataklysm - Idol already said it, they're not that exciting. a few great songs but mostly bland stuff, imo.

there's a lot of BM i can't listen to because it's too slow and/or too raw. i wish i could but it's a genre that's just not for me.

Agreed about Kataklysm, but you're wrong about Suffo, Nevermore and slow BM. Slooooow doooown, man!

Tool.

There are one or two songs that I like, but even those two aren't that spectacular, and I've really tried to like them for a long time, it just isn't happening, oh well.

Manowar... It's so repeating they have lyrics like they gave a seven year old kid to write them lyrics

I am very surprised at how little I care to listen to Dungeon's First two albums. namely "Ressurection (2005)" and "A Rise To Power." One of my favorite albums ever has got to be "One Step Beyond." It must be due to Lord Tim's former knack to stick to speed metal with power metal vocals. With "One Step Beyond" he simply took an old school groove metal approach and threw some of him classic speed metal tendencies in there as well. Maybe given enough time, I'll come to really love these albums. To me, an album that takes a while to get in to is much more appealing in the long run and takes on a very long life before getting boring.

A Perfect Circle. I gave Mer De Noms a go and was fairly indifferent to it. Bought the other two releases (thankfully on offer) and was horrified by how shit they were. I admit I've only given both Emotive & the Thirteenth Step a few spins each, but I just cannot get into them.

Deicide. Being a huge Slayer fan, one would expect a big appreciation for Deicide too. Not so. I find them simply far too repetitive and grunty to actually grow fond of them. Weird.

I hear Emotive was unspeakably horrid. I enjoyed Mer De Noms, though more due to Maynard's smexy voice than anything else.

Emotive could've been a solid EP but theres a lot of crappy stuff on there. I really a couple of the tunes like Imagine (actually i think that cover might be the best thing APC did) and Passive.

QFT. The Counting Bodies song reminds me of something Mike Patton would do. It's just a covers album really. APC is about half good in general.

On topic: Bathory, Deicide, Morbid Angel, Carpathian Forest, Ministry, Exodus, Entombed

To Mintrude

I do like his voice and Mer De Noms had some great tunes on it such as Rose and The Hollow. However, my interest in the album fades the more it goes on, hence the reason I'm indifferent to it. The perfect album to own on cassette as I'm sure I'd only ever listen to side A.

To all

Emotive is definitely one of the worst albums I've ever bought. I disagree about the cover of Imagine being the best thing APC did. I liked the novelty of it at first, (maybe because I knew the words and appreciated a different interprutation of it!) but whether it had anything to do with the rest of the album, I can't stand it now. I think 'Horrid' is best word to describe this release. Won't be buying another APC album again, that's for sure.
