I love power metal but never got into Kamelot. I can definitely see the appeal, but it's not for me. So I won't be reviewing this one unless I can learn to like them within the next month or so. Hopefully whoever reviews it does it justice.

New album from The Batallion!!! Love these guys.

Once you get over how serious they take themselves, they are actually pretty good. Roy Khan is pretty overrated though, IMO!!!!

I saw Kamelot live last weekend, Kahn is indeed a great singer and the rest of the band was pretty good but the sound wasn't very good. They played those two new songs but I couldn't make out too much from them. I'm curious about the album though.

Has anybody heard the newest Bleeding Through album? I didn't even know they had one.

I think Zad has reviewed it already. Haven't heard it though. Thanks for reminding me.

The guy is killer on and off album and has a great range. Dude studied opera in Norway, clearly paid off.

I just don't see how you can call him overrated. It's like saying Rob Halford is overrated.



Maybe that's why I like them. I absolutely hate power metal but there's just something about these guys I like a lot. They have a very commanding presence and great song structure that isn't overflowing with generic nonsense like most power metal bands.

And I like their themes a lot.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet but James LaBrie of Dream Theater has a new album coming out Sept 27th (Euro) and Sept 28th (US) called 'Static Impulse'

I really don't know what's going on. It sounds more like a circus than ever. They kicked out Vortex, and replaced his clean vocals with some high-pitched squealy girl voice? What the fuck is going on? It's more funny than it is outright bad.

EDIT: The last part of the song is pretty neat, but I can't help but think how much better it would be if it was still Vortex singing.

The parts without the girl's voice are ok, I'll probably like it after a few more listens. Hopefully the female vocals are only present on this track and not the entire album.

That sounded awful. Hoping the rest of the CD is better... And wtf at the female vocals. Weak work by Galder as well. The keys were really weak, too. Probably because Mustis is gone. I hope Shagrath didn't think that subbing some random studio key guy was going to cut it.

I'm hearing rumors that Helloween is planning on releasing a new album on Oct 31st called 7 Sinners. Can anyone confirm this?
