It must be confusing to see everything in black and white.

So after seeing them live. Awesome riffs, great drumming with some pretty intense vox. And the girls are not butch and are incredibly fucking adorable. I think girls with tattoos is my new thing. Had never been that into it before. Bought the album so hearing it in studio quality should be interesting.

Enabler was awesome as fucking always. The first show was little more intimate in the basement but not nearly as intense due it to being so cramped. However, the kids in Dayton were breaking shit so I participated. Moshing with strangers is kinda weird after participating in a really tight circle for a while now.

At the Dayton show, a djent band and a deathcore band opened up for them but I was more interested in catching up with my friend who stopped by to see me, given that I was in town. Oh and Cincy hardcore band Veterans played their second to last show after Enabler in Cincy. It's weird how their sound has shifted from really upbeat hardcore to really pissed off dissonant hardcore. They work the feedback preety hard.

Never much liked that djent stuff either aside from The Contortionist and After the Burial and maybe a bit of BOO, not really my sound as modern hardcore already has too many chugs to begin with.

First Number Of The Beast, now the entire 'Deth catalogue are in line for your dissings? Outrageous - neither Maiden nor Megadeth are remotely Marxist, and both easily beat Vital Remains of whatever period. Please stop the crazy talk, Steve.

Can't disagree. Perhaps you could keep your McCarthyist activities to the Polities thread, Steve?

I never referred to Maiden or Megadeth as Marxist, I was talking to MR'S resident fudgepacker (Trapt) about his own shitty taste in the music. As for Maiden I'm still exploring their discography they have good songs and not so great albums. Megadeth suffer from some of the dullest riffs, worst vocals, and tamest songs whereas Vital's older material integrate the darkest of doom's heaviness, Morbid Angel's occult mystique, and would smash any of Megadeth's crap.

And last night I was able to talk to the guy organizing the WITTR show come September. It sounds fucking crazy. I asked why Mockbee which is a local venue kinda shady and usually for DIY shows. It's an old paper factory. He said that WITTR wants to only play in cave-like or forest areas and that they actually sought out the Mockbee as being the spot. He said he has to be there eight hours before the show starts so that they can load up all their equipment that they bring including plants and bones. My mind was blown. I was talking to another guy who plays at a lot of Cincinnati venues and he said that if they wanted to bring plants into a place like the Southgate House, the main metal venue, they would've been laughed off. Apparently, Rob the organizer is getting messages from people in Pittsburgh and Tennessee about coming to the show. It might be the sickest thing in Cincinnati in a long time.

A link for anyone interested: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=249356451756672

One of the guys was also saying Thou is totally different live in not a good way but like an indie rock way, covering shit like Nirvana. Anyone know>

I just can't bring myself to hate as much music as I used to. I'd actually go pay to see WITTR with you, and I'd watch Liturgy for free.

How often do black metal bands tour? Well, they don't come to my fucking town. Barring Dimmu which obv doesn't count for various reasons. I'm psyched.

Saw Cloud Rat and WITTR last night. Thou pulled out which apparently they commonly do. The only good Cincy metal band Beneath Oblivion opened as well. One of their guitarists was in a hospital and for some reason being a three piece made them play their brand of doom a hell of a lot faster.

Cloud Rat was fucking sick. Grindcore at its absurdist live. Where the on the album the drumming is well timed and mostly minimal, he was just blasting last night. The riffs were awesome. The singer isn't the cutest but she is fucking awesome regardless. Given that Thou pulled out, they made up for it by playing a 45 minute set. Of grind. So fucking awesome. How she was able to scream for that long is beyond me. They basically played every song of theirs minus five.

You guys were right about WITTR and hipsters. I didn't realize there were that many douches that are fans of theirs. However, the Cincy gutter crust punk kids started moshing during Cloud Rat's set and we pissed them off. We moshed most of Cloud Rat's set and as it progressed, we became more obnoxious as pits do, trying to get the whole crowd into it. I'm usually the jaded asshole, looking down on moshing but when it comes to -core bands, it's what you do.

WITTR played around midnight. They were having technical difficulties. They arranged their branches over the stage. Lit some weird incense in a bowl. Turned off the lights. Lit some oil lamps on stage. And started blasting the fuck out of shit. The fog machines were blowing into the drumkit, making it look like a whirlwind rising out of his playing. Overall, they played for an hour. At a certain point, it became too hot to tolerate so I went outside. The venue was an old paper factory that has been a venue for DIY shit so no A/C, plus the near hour of moshing prior to WITTR's set. I could hear the sound perfectly outside so it was nice to enjoy the cool summer night.

I ended up talking to Madison, the singer of Cloud Rat. She was pretty awesome. As soon as WITTR's set finished, immediately a huge storm of epic proportions started pouring down rain. I ran to my car in the pouring rain and paused to wait it out under a bridge. The storm knocked out the power down Cincinnati's main parkway. It was good timing for a storm.

You would be with your review count and the fact you could easily outwrite the MR team, dude.

'Regulations' like checking your own reviews for grammatical errors and not whining like a bitch in public when politely asked to discuss it? Yeah, Josef fucking Stalin, right here.
