It's ok Comrade, as posting them in MS word spellcheck and grammar check yielded none of the above. Besides, with your dismal review count going on for near a month now- he shouldn't waste his time reviewing for a site that is content rehashing excuses as opposed to writing reviews.

MS Word being the pinnacle of literary perfection, of course. And who's making excuses? Not I.

Its the pinnacle inasmuch as it detects at least basic grammar imperfections, yet this obviously eludes you given the amount of badly composed reviews on this site. But whatever, I hope you guys can boost productivity, and I would like to write again for you guys- just never as a member of staff ever again.

How does it elude ME, given that I am not, have never been and will never be the editor of this site? Self-responsibility to maintain to a decent standard has been the norm for a while now, whatever the historical low bar, and failure to maintain that yourself whilst insisting on flooding the weekly count with fourteen (error-strewn) reviews is simply unacceptable, as you full know. As is refusing to discuss the matter like a sensible human being and spamming the entire forum with ridiculous lies about how authoritarian and evil I am.

BACK ON TOPIC.

I think I'm going to go see Wormrot tonight. It's in this little basement sweatbox place with a max capacity of about 80 but will probably have a good 100+ at it.

It'll be beautiful .

Saw Skeletonwitch on Thursday. Some shitty local folk metal band opened up for them and that was awful. Favorite local metal band, Beneath Oblivion, played next. Their new album is such good material. It actually got a review on metalsucks.net. But yeah Skeletonwitch. Ummm wow rehashed thrash metal isn't that interesting to see live. They're doing their thing and I'm supposed to get excited about it; I don't dislike Skeletonwitch but I really never got that into it. Maybe I wasn't drunk enough or maybe the guy being a dick next to me ruined it but seriously, they have fun riffs and yeah those are enjoyable and lead singer guy (forget his name) was pretty cool but I've seen better shows.

Arsis in a few weeks. Possibly the Judas Priest tour if I could afford it or end up getting a credit card before then. DEP/Mastodon/Red Fang will be two hours away in November. Can't afford to see BTBAM, given these other options. May have to skip Deafheaven to see these other shows, or may see them because it's all I can afford. And iwabo after Thanksgiving and TUI in Dec. So excited. Get my mosh on. Hells yeah.

Edit: Young Widows was added to the Deafheaven show and so I know nothing about Russian Circles but definitely need to go now.

Went to Paganfest last sunday to see Wintersun. They were fucking amazing. They played the new song, The Way of the Fire, and although it sounds exactly like all their other songs it was very, very enjoyable. Jari seemed very happy to be on stage again too which only made the evening better.

Yesterday evening I went to see Intronaut, A Storm of Light, Yob and Ghost Brigade. All of them were very good but A Storm of Light and Ghost Brigade stood out for me. A Storm of Light blew me away with their massive sound. And Ghost Brigade played one amazing song after the other. Which was no surprise considering they haven't got one weak song in their catalogue. Also, if your singer barely is nearly completely hoarse and you still put on the best show of the evening then that says a lot about your band.

Arsis is coming into town in a week but Jim Malone isn't going to be there. I'm unsure about how I feel seeing an Arsis cover band which is basically what it results in given their lineup changes and what not. Plus I'm broke.

Alcest were actually a little disappointing, the sound was good but Neige's voice was drowned in the mix and really kinda weak

Jealous. They're playing two hours away on the 17th. Don't know if I can afford it. I can't afford Judas Priest tonight or Deafheaven/Young Widows tomorrow night. Fuck being broke.

Ok, admittedly I was skeptical about Lacuna Coil, but goddamm, they were extremely charismatic and I enjoyed the shit out of myself despite myself. Ended up buying a t-shirt and I got to pick up the drumstick. Woo!

Supporting band Straight Line Stitch were your usual metalcore, but very energetic and entertaining. The band hung around after the show to chat as well, really nice people. I guess having a venue as small as the Lemon Tree does a lot to make the gig more intimate.

Straight Line Stitch isn't bad deathcore and the girl is cute. How simplistic the riffing is though frustrates the fuck out of me. Their arms do not move more than an inch throughout the entire show. Rather than moving up the guitar neck or playing a different note, they just bend their knees like the apes they are.
