read the article: This is only applicable for On Campus stealing. Every college in the US has explained explicidely that if you use thier equpiment to download copyrighted materials (and infringing on them) you can be dismissed from the college. I wonder if this applied to dorm rooms internet service as well. If it does, get a private satellite based connection and don't use thier intranet system. |

To stop funding colleges over the actions of a few students that leads to everyone getting fucked over, over laws that are fiercely debated is about as retarded as sticking your dick in a lemur's mouth. I know you're all fire and brimstone over the downloading issue, Kenneth, because Napster raped you as a child or something. But this bill is completely ridiculous, and warrants more of a response than "and thus the Lord said that downloading is wrong, an everlasting fire awaits those who violate His sacred commandments." |

It's a good way to curb illegal downloading, but consider the fact that it IS a little bit too harsh, especially if the kid (college go-er) comes from a poor background. |

Man, you're just being stupid here! I download a shitload of music and, yet, I've never bought so many albums... Downloading can be a nice way to discover an artist/album before you buy it or to not make the mistake to buy sometjing you're not going to enjoy. FYI, I've bought a little more than 400 cds in 2007, I therefore would feel it unjust if any authority made me paid a fine for downloading! |

A band can easily pick his finest 2/3 songs... If the rest is shite (or even average), it hardly makes a satisfying album... And I honestly don't know how many albums I downloaded, what I know is I couldn't possibly buy any more cd's considering my budget. Plus, one must not forget the fact that many people (including me) also download albums that are no longer available in the stores, is that acceptable? what people do not consider about myspace is the quality is VERY low, half the sample rate and half the bitrate of a cd. That is not good enough to determine anything other than a rough idea of what the song sounds like |

yeah thats one problem my main problems are that knowing what a band sounds like doesn't help me decide how good they are at all and nearly any band can entertain me three songs at a time |

Sounds on Myspace are not as good as what you get on a CD. But it's definitely clear enough for you to listen to the song, at least to figure out how the song sounds etc. It's definitely no Mayhem's 'Pure Fuckin; Armageddon'. |
