So what albums are you looking forward to in 2008? I liked 2007 alot and hope 2008 will match it.

Judas Priest - Nostradameus: They haven't said much about it, and it makes me curious. It's been in the works a while now, I'm hoping for it to be as good as Angel of Retribution.

Iced Earth - Framing Armageddon part 2: Barlow and Schaffer back together. 'Nuff said.

Metallica: I don't care what anyone says, I'm excited about this. Nothing like the classics of course, but I'm expecting a few gems.

Evergrey: I wasn't the only one who didn't like Monday Morning Apocalypse and I'm hoping for a return to form.

Other noteworthy releases:

In Flames - Probably not great.
Avantasia - Gonna be good, but most likely a huge disappointment compared to earlier work.

Protest the Hero - Fortress; Kezia was basically the greatest thing ever and I can't wait to hear this.

Akimbo - Jersey Shores; apparently this will be more drawn out than their other albums (its only 5 songs), so I'm really interested in hearing how they'll do that sort of thing.

Arsis - We Are the Nightmare; hoping for more in the vein of A Diamond For Disease... get it... vein...diamond...hahaha

The Mars Volta - Bedlam in Goliath; it's a concept album about a Ouija board that became a "psycho-spiritual force" and almost broke the band up lolol

Hammers of Misfortune; apparently they're writing a two disc album or something. I'm interested to hear what their new vocalist will sound like.

Also hoping Day Without Dawn will get their shit together and finally release a full-length... and I think Manilla Road and Bible of the Devil are planning releases too. I'm interested in the new Priest even though I still haven't gotten through their discography yet =\

Meshuggah obZen: They intend to conglomerate their older work into a heavy masterpiece. I'm interested

Metallica: Lars said it is going to be like the 80s and it gives me hope. I'm also expecting to be disappointed but eager nonetheless.

Opeth: They claim it'll be darker than their other releases. Whatever that means, I hope it isn't boring.

Biomechanical Cannibalised has leaked and it is good.

Testament and Death Angel are confirmed.

Cannibal Corpse, Alice in Chains, Rammstein, Heaven and Hell, Fear Factory and Slayer might have new albums come out but there are no dates set. The future looks bright it seems.

All them plus:

Meshuggah
Opeth
Deicide
Unearthly Trance
The Haunted (Dead Eye rules, fools)
Cryptopsy (here’s hoping, at least)
She Said Destroy

Crossed fingers that Enslaved and Napalm Death produce something as well.

That meshuggah album sounds good. I listened to catch 33 and thought it was repetitive and a one trick pony. If they can come up with and album comprised of thier best riffs, it would be a lot more interesting than basing albums around one riff.

Metallica's new album will be really good, I'm sure it will be. Fans are hungry for some good metallica. It isn't far fetched that they release a classic album after years of horrible output. Deep Purple did it, why not metallica? I think metallica have realised it is time to make great albums rather than try to revolutionize metal like they did a long time ago. I think they are sick of seeing all thier trash peers getting the respect they once enjoyed. They know they can do better than all of them and I think they are going to prove it this year. In other words, get ready to like this album, or hate regardless of how good it might be.

More Hammerfall! Not a request, but a demand.

New alice in chains? why? jerry cantrell has been doing fine by himself releasing increasingly more mediocre material, why drag AIC into it. The only way this album is going to be good is if it new recordings of the "alice N Chains" demos that have been floating around.

Dio needs to release a Black sabbath album again. Sharon can fuck off, it will be Black Sabbath regardless of what name they put on the cover.

Children of bodom will dissapoibnt us sometime this year by being slightly above average

Bands that will have something together by the end of the year based on thier history:

Dope (edsel could write an album in an hour if he wanted, if he can get anyone to release it, that is)
Slipknot (seemingly confirmed by blabbermouth)

Persuader might release something new because they have distribution in the USA now, or Savage Circus.

Nevermore might get another album together this year

Axenstar have released albums very quickly, this is likely to continue, but if it comes in late, it won't hit the US until '09.

Edguy might get a new album out.

Something from some member of angra will likely be released. Actually scratch that. Go to angra.net, there will be a new album coming out because the band has reconveined and will probably start demoing soon.

Maybe another James Labrie solo album.

Shadow gallery will start working on new material, but it won't be released until 2016, keeping with tradition.

Hopefully Tribuzy will release a second album with the Live album and DVD fresh on our minds.

Xentrix will shockingly return and upstage metallica again, but no one will hear them, just like the past

Some of those are jokes.

A new Nevermore would be awesome.

I'm mostly looking forward to the new Iced Earth though.

The art for the new Meshuggah is terrible. What the bleep were they thinking, assuming it's not a horrible joke?

I doubt a new Nevermore album will come out with Worrel Dane trying to finish his solo album. Throw that on to the list of new albums as well.

May be Blind Guardian will also have something out this year. That'd be awesome.

I seriously doubt Slayer will have a new album out this year. Heck, I'd be surprised if they have a new album out by the end of the decade.
