Well, what it says on the tin really. Post the best bands you've seen, worst, whatever.

Tool are still the best band I've seen out of nigh-on twenty. If you haven't seen them yet go.

Symphony X were another band that put on a really good show, even though they only had a support slot when I saw them.

Neurosis are by far the best band i've seen. absolutely flawless and the only thing that proved they were human is that Scott Kelly broke his face on the microphone towards the end of their set.

both times i've seen Tool they've had an awesome light show (especially the second time) but the sound hasn't been that great.

never been disappointed with a band's live show, so i don't have a worst... yet.

Best: Converge. Total headfuck, brutal, relentless, raw, personal, and really really fucking loud. Especially when you're literally right in front of Kurt's amp wall.

Worst: This band from a battle of the bands called Della Morte. The guitarist/vocalist was this totally obnoixiously arrogant kid who was bragging before he went on about how good he is and how he can play the solo to Cemetary Gates. There was a small army of girls obsessed with this kid wearing "I <3 Della Morte" shirts. So they went on, and it just sounded bad. I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on. I don't even think the band did. The whole crowd just stood there in stunned silence, even the small army of fangirls. So after a couple songs, this one guy shouted out "YOU SUCK" and the smug bastard guitarist was like "Shut up, we're awesome." So they played Cemetary Gates. It sounded absolutely nothing like it. Not even a vague semblance. The kid goes up to play the solo he was bragging the entire time about, and his amp blows out. It was hilarious. After that, they went into this song where the kid was holding the microphone screaming "THERE'S SO MUCH PAIN OOOH I CAN'T TAKE THIS TORMENT OH WOE IS ME."

A couple more songs, and this band goes off stage without much of an applause. Yeah, it was really bad.

I think I've only seen about 12-14 bands so far. My best experience was seeing Bruce with the E-Street Band two nights in a row, the second night being the best. I can't imagine ever going to a better concert.

The best metal band I've seen is probably Amon Amarth, I saw them on the Sweden Rock cruise. I was drunk as fuck, but it was awesome.

Worst shit I've ever seen was Dream Theater last year. It was fucking horrible. I gave up half-way through the show and went to the bar to get fucking drunk, which didn't really make the rest of the show any better.

Best: Iron Maiden, with Metallica and Priest on a close second.

Worst: Children of Bodom at Unholy Alliance.

Metallica in 2004 - they hadn't come to portugal since 1995 or something and they were absolutely FANTASTIC. the crowd was singing along so loud that there parts where you could barely hear James. also i broke my front tooth in the mosh pit

Best:
* Iron Maiden on their Give me 'Ed tour (Edward the Great). I was at the height of my Maiden fanboy era and caught them doing a "greatest hits" tour. It was an amazing experience. One long and glorious sing-a-long.

* Rammstein on their Mutter tour. It was one of my first concert experiences and man did they blow me away. What a show! I'm a big fan of their albums up to and including Mutter, they haven't released much good since so it was the best possible time to see them.

Honorable mentions: Metallica (2004), In Flames (Sweden Rock Festival 2004).

Worst:
There are many bands I hated seeing live because I didn't like their music to begin with. Some examples would be Murderdolls, Storyteller, Lostprophets and so on. I'll list some bands that I liked that disappointed me live instead.

* Savage Circus on House of Metal 2007. They couldn't have cared less. Jens was basically reading the lyrics from a folder. The crowd got smaller and smaller and finally he said "Okay, let's go watch Satyricon" (they were playing on another stage).

* Scorpions on Sweden Rock Festival 2004. It could have been that I'd already seen so many bands that weekend but man they were boring.

I've loved Behemoth, both times that I've seen them. Megadeth also amazed me on the Heaven and Hell tour.

Dimmu Borgir sucked when I saw them a few monthes ago. It could be the fact that they were following Behemoth but I don't think it would've mattered; they were just so rigid.

And you live in one of the best gig spots in the country?

I've seen a total of 3 concerts which included: Nightwish, Liva (some local band from Montreal?), David Usher, Ozzy, and In This Moment.

Nightwish and David Usher were each out of this world amazing and Ozzy was good, especially for a man his age. I think I'd have to give Nightwish the nod as the best concert I've ever been to. It was all just such an awesome experience, catching a train from Nova Scotia to Montreal (22 hour trip) and then seeing my favorite band on my birthday was just to much awesome. I still need to go back to Montreal for another concert since I had so much fun, maybe next Nightwish tour.

The only band I would say was bad was In This Moment, I think my GF just about dumped me for making her sit through that, she was seriously pissed about the vocals for that band.. In studio they sound alright I guess, but on stage the singer sounded like someone punching a cat having babies.

Best gig: Monsters of Rock, 1988. Manzano (local band, very crappy), Anthrax, Helloween, Metallica & Iron Maiden.

Special mention:
Rammstein, 1997. 400 persons crowding a small venue (still not famous). And with all fire you can imagine.

Worst gig: Ozzy in No rest for the wicked tour. Bad voice, boring, looking old, and very meh.

Apart from the obvious legends ie. Motley Cruse, Maiden, Kiss and all that jazz I'd say the best gig I've seen was Cannibal Corpse, it was fucking nuts. The crowd was just a giant pit, some guy stage dived and got caught in the wires on the ceiling and fucked up loads of lights which was hilarious, and when they played Hammer Smashed Face it was epic.

Worst band I've ever seen? I dunno, I've seen some pretty gay shit. I'll probably go with Bring me the Horizon though, terrible out of time scene shit with a 'tough guy' singer who wieghs around about 6 and a half stone by the looks of him.

Yeah seriously. Sort it out, Zad.

My favourite gigs have been Opeth (BWP tour and GR tour were the best), Metallica at Leeds festival, and the Gathering.

The worst I think was Katatonia, they were really dull. Just like listening to the record just with worse sound quality.

Also didn't like the Haunted, as someone stage dived onto my head and I fell on the floor and got really sick when I stood up.

EDIT: Oh and recently I just saw Gallhammer, who were really great. One of my favourite gigs.
