Ok, who here has dreamed of one being as awesome as Shane MacGowan (without loosing the teeth, preferably)? The man is an idol to poets, drunkards and musicians everywhere. And the Pogues are probably the best musical act to ever come out of Ireland. EVER. Not even the Wolfe Tones come close. Sinead O'Connor? Pffft. |

Rum, Sodomy & the Lash is THE classic. Red Roses For Me is pretty good too and If I Should Fall From Grace With God falls pretty close. The rest has good songs but is uneven. |

I can't believe you guys actually think I like the Corrs... 
FS said the Pogues were the best Irish band, which I agree with, but it reminded me of a very funny (IMO) sketch on a mid-90s British TV show about The Corrs. Now, as I don't really have much to add to the Pogues discussion, I leave you in peace free from irony or sarcasm
