...at writing a song that isn't thrash! I don't know what genre it is, but I've been listening to a lot of Sabbath and Danzig recently, so that kind of shows I reckon. Criticism or whatever would be nice...

has potential, a few parts need a bit cleaning up, but it has a nice doomy feel to it. Keep it up.
What equipment are you using? My amp just blew and I have been taking advantage (read: mourning the loss) of the situation by cleaning up my technique, since sans amp and distortion + note clarity is the key.

Well I'm using a Crate amp thats about 15 watt, piece of shit. The guitar I'm using is a no make which was really cheap, my Jackson's out of commission at the moment.

I'm gonna re-record this when I've learned it properly with no mistakes soon and see how it is then, I literally wrote it and recorded it. I kept fucking up trying to remember what comes next haha.

I really wish I had some people who liked metal to jam with, I'm not arsed about being in a band, but jamming would be fun.

No, I wish I did but ooooh well. If I had a band I could actually get some satisfaction out of it, haha. Writing lyrics and finishing the song would be good.
