I feel like discovering some new + amazing metal/music, so post your 5 current favourite albums. They don't have to be metal, just whatever.

Mine are:
La Dispute - Somewhere Between The River...
The Mars Volta - Octahedron
The Paper Chase - Someday This Could All Be Yours
Keith Jarrett Trio - Standards Vol 1/Changes
Grammatics - Grammatics

Paramore - Riot!
Silverchair - Neon Ballroom
Foo Fighters - In Your Honour
The Killers - Hot Fuss
Manic Street Preachers - Holy Bible

I'm sure it'll change as soon as the next batch of new metal albums start appearing, though, I'm starting to get a bit bored with these. Don't want to overplay them.

Not sure if any of it will appeal to you. La Dispute and The Paper Chase both have off-key/intense vocals and amazing lyrics, Mars Volta and Grammatics are both catchy modern prog rock stuff, and Keith Jarrett is very introspective jazz.

I know who Keith Jarrett is :D I've often heard of those other bands, but for some reason they keep slipping under my radar.

You, on the other hand, should check out that Silverchair album.

I like Nouveau Gloaming better, but I'm still digging the new one a hell of a lot :dio:

Glad you're digging the Pensees Nocturne, FtR. :dio:

For me:

Gigan - The Order of the False Eye (marvellous psychedelic tech-death/grind)

The Clash- London Calling (greatest punk album ever? full of awesome reggae and ska influences, and totally righteous lyrics on every track)

Emerson, Lake and Palmer- Pictures at an Exhibition (mental prog)

Azarath- Diabolic Impious Evil (maybe the most brutal death metal I've ever heard)

Wildhearts- Endless Nameless (the Beach Boys meets Throbbing Gristle)

Paramore - All We Know Is Falling
Converge - Jane Doe/You Fail Me
