Post subject:  "Metal" moments in not-metal music

This makes me really excited lately. Just when there's a moment of the musician(s) giving it in a really heavy and intense way that makes me think of metal while I'm listening to John Fahey or Keith Jarrett or smth.

I'll post examples when I come across them.

I really like this too....like hmm, in A Sweater Poorly Knit by mewithoutYou, that fast part makes me think of metal a little bit. Not a great example...oh well.

I'm not sure if Pure Reason Revolution would count as a metal band or not, but if not, there are some moments on the Dark Third that get pretty crunchy for a non-metal band.
