After more than 35 years as the frontman for seminal underground rock band Motorhead, Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister has decided to retire from the music business. He recently announced that Motorhead's anticipated 21st studio album will be scrapped and that Motorhead will be no more. "There are many reasons for this decision. I'm pushing 65 right now. I've become too old to play the loud and aggressive music I was playing with Motorhead. And, quite frankly, the band hasn't really raked in enough revenue during the last 25 or so years for me to really feel compelled to continue," He said. This news came as a shock to the band's many fans, who were hoping to see a big summer tour and new studio album out by the end of the year. "It's amazing!", said an ex-fan, "You think you know a guy. And then, all of a sudden, he just turns his back on you." More as this story develops. |
