OK, so Bruce Lamont, the vocalist from Yakuza has a tribute band called Led Zeppelin II. I went to see them at the Madison theater in Covington, KY last Thursday. They were spot on musically and I felt like Bruce was definitely channeling Robert Plant, but the guys doing Page and Jones were not nearly as convincing from a performance standpoint. I went to see them partly because I'd seen a few really good reviews and I struggled with maybe putting it up on the site (decided not to, obviously) but I have to tell everyone: it's not a Led Zep experience except for the music. I'd tell you to just get really drunk and jam out but I was and I still didn't think it was that great. |
