Post subject:  Favorite Acoustic/Instrumental albums.

I'm generally open to listening to acoustic or live albums by bands, though I happened to have found very few of them. In particular, my favorites are Empyrium's "Where at night the woodgrouse plays", and Orphaned Land's instrumental performance on a bonus disc for the Mabool album. What are some of your favorite acoustic/instrumental albums or songs, and what are some you recommend to everyone else on the forum.

Hmm. I thought it was fine, but a little disappointing.

Are Panopticon similar to Skagos?

Are Panopticon similar to Skagos?
No. Similar politics; they're doing a split together but no. Panopticon goes from slightly crust punk influenced black metal to black metal laced with bluegrass and mandolins. It's not 'cascadian' by any means. A lot more vitriol than Skagos at times but it's not afraid to slow it down with whispered vocals and timid riffing.

Edit: http://www.myspace.com/panopticonation I recommend the Sacco and Vanzetti track. Haven't yet heard the first two off of the Skagos split so they may be more comparable to Skagos.

hmmm, that was quite enjoyable. Reminded me of some of Leviathan's more punk influenced tracks and some of the more blackened doom out there like Unearthly Trance.
