Enough with all the negativity, let's talk about the albums that came out this year that didn't suck. Shining's Blackjazz is my favorite album of the year, but Kvelertak is a close second. |

Don't know yet, it's being discussed.. Anyway, I'm really struggling to find 15 to fit into my year-end list, so far I have: Overkill - Ironbound Heathen - Evolution of Chaos Kvelertak - S/T Atlantean Kodex - The Golden Bough Helstar - Glory of Chaos Social Suicide - Broken Pilgrims Seventh Wonder - The Great Escape Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini The Crown - Doomsday King And that's what I have so far. It's been a pretty shit year for my personal taste. If I had been more into black/death and power metal I wouldn't have this problem of course. |

IMO this has been an awesome year for metal: Overkill - Ironbound Cathedral - The Guessing Game Grand Magus - Hammer Of The North Atlantean Kodex - The Golden Bough Blind Guardian - At The Edge Of Time Coheed & Cambria - Year Of The Black Rainbow Heathen - The Evolution OF Chaos Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier The Lord Weird Slough Feg - The Animal Spirits Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones Honorable mentions: Electric Wizard - Black Masses I still havent heard the new albums from Sodom and Tankard and i was listening to new Immolation last night and was very impressed. |

Aborym Belenos Murmuure Neaera Allaegeon Machinae Supremacy Possibly Fleshgod Apocalypse. I feel like I didn't really hear any good death metal this year. And unfortunately my MP3 tracks got rearranged and won't file back into the dates I downloaded them in, so going back through my history is tough. I'm definitely missing out on a few and will add when they come to my head. I know there were definitely some other solid black metal releases I'm overlooking. |
