To have a song derailed unintentionally by an element of pop music, is an occurence Id relegate more often to power metal. Though it hasn't happened in any songs I've heard, what are some songs that start off intensely, yet included some out of place chorus, riff, or odd vocal line. Does the song immediately lose its quality, or does the pop novelty make it more memorable than otherwise.

That Benighted song with the French rapping comes to mind. Love it, when done well.

Grind Wit! That was the exact song I was thinking of when I read this title.

You can immediately point towards TDEP, iwrestledabearonce, and other goofy metalcore bands. I really like the techno-y bit in "Tastes Like Kevin Bacon", by iwrestledabearonce. Without the poppy/odd sections, that band would be pretty shitty.

Symbyosis - Life

Seems like Daft Punk to me in the middle of the song. Love it

I forgot about all of TDEP's poppy choruses. Fun stuff.
