What are some bands that have actively evaded blogs, metal journalists, and curious fans for years. During what album period did they start denying the press interviews, and why do you think they hate being prodded by hard questions? |

Some have nothing to say. I remember interviewing Pantera's bassist when they were in Paris opening for Judas Priest (Painkiller tour! ![]() |

First thing that comes to mind are all those kvlt black metal bands like DsO who refuse to have publicity. Other than that I got nothing. I remember wanting Chuck to interview Austin Lunn, but at the time he was turning down interviews but has seemed to start doing them more in terms of getting press for releases. |

Not metal, but Godspeed You! Black Emperor are the biggest assholes in the world, and if they do interviews, they talk about how they hate the people that like their music. Fucking cunts. |

As someone who also hate their fans, I don't blame 'em.I periodically appreciate their music, but wouldn't call myself a fan by any stretch. Dolorian. Ultra reclusive Finns have disappeared for six years since releasing the brilliant Voidwards to make good, but hardly overwhelming ambient. |

Tool comes to mind. I don't know if they "hate" interviews but they certainly don't do a whole lot of them. |

Maybe it's that they expose the fact that they are not nearly as sagely or as knowledgeable as they would like their fans to believe. Every time they do anything they just expose the reality that is not as good of a story as what their fans have replaced it with. |

Maynard even did some comedy skits. They are on YouTube. One that comes to mind is Maynard dressed as a cop. It wasn't really funny but Maynard worshipped bill hicks. Bill hicks was a very influential comic in the early nineties. |

They did a bunch of interviews after 10,000 Days. Maybe that and "The Pot" were an effort to diffuse the mystique created by Lateralus. |
