Compilation album from Peaceville in December that looks like it has plenty of gems, including material from Snorre Ruch, new bands from Blasphemer and Vicotnik, and new material from Kvist (!).

Exclamation mark definitely warranted.

Sticking with the theme I guess...

Speaking of new releases, what did you make of the Code Orange remix thing?

I don't care for remixes generally so I went attack mode early. I made Jami mad catching him in a lie claiming the whole band made it when I quoted his interview where he said he and the keyboardist did everything. I'm not remotely interested in NIN worship and barely got through the whole thing--those two band members are obsessed with NIN and thus bore me when they aren't balanced by the guitarists' influences.

3 year wait for a remix sucks regardless and so I think the reaction was very negative and no one is listening to it on Spotify already. You'd think they'd have a new single and album announcement out by the time of the June festivals in Europe. Initially I was excited to hear Roadrunner dropped them because Roadrunner has a long history of sucking, but then I heard they were signed by Blue Grape which is just a new label made by a couple long time RR people.

I like it, of course! Feels very Moonfog 00s, but in a good way. Almost like an ult universe Ulver at points... Hopefully the full album has more dynamics, but looking forward regardless.

I thought it was pretty cool too. Hope some of the other tracks are a bit heavier!

Scar Symmetry appear FINALLY to be doing something again, fingers crossed they're getting to part 2 of The Singularity.

Hah. On a more serious note, happy to hear about Agalloch reuniting this September in Germany for a few shows. I know it ended poorly back in 2016, glad to read they buried the hatchet as no one quite sounded like them.
