So I know that there are quite some drummers on here. Why not share some rhythms and fills etc in a thread? I'll start with my fav rhtyhm, part of the Amen Break, to be played at 130 or something:



And one from myself (in 7/8), use heeltoe to get the three notes:


And then a fill:
Rsnare, Ltom1, Rtom2, Lfloortom(move arm under right arm), Rtom1, Lfloortom, Rtom2, Ltom1

Put that in a snare roll, as fast as possible, the combinations are endless. Try going over different toms (left hand on tom2 instead of floortom) or on cymbals or symbals and toms combined.

I used to play drums in a Black Metal band. I was pretty damn awful.

My friend managed to talk me into drumming for a Black Metal song we wrote. I'm really hopeless behind the kit, so i just decided to blast all the way through. my kicks were inconsistent like fuck cos I was gettting cramps. And uh....I suck.

So I can share my euforia with you that my right foot just had a constant release motion revelation. It now beats 16s at upto 140 Bpm (not too many notes, but still). So IF I could pull that off with my two feet combined, for a full minute, I would hardpwn the current world record of 1015 singles per minute with 1120, wohoooooo!! A shame there is no way I can hold that for a full minute, hahah. Anyways, double bass with one foot is teh pwn.

So you're saying you can play 32nd's at 140? :-\

Hey Husker, remember telling me not to try and jump right into Reign in Blood? That was the first song I learned!!! All I can do efficiently is blast beat in 16th patterns.



Oh, well.

No, naturally not. My foot would need to be twice as fast for that, or I would need to include my left at the same speed. Normally my right doesn't surpass 125 or something, but sometimes I can build upto that speed. My left foot is by far not as fast, I can't put them together at that tempo and I don't have the technique that I use on my right, plus, I don't have double bass, hahaha. I just started drumming you know.

How about playing half speed with your right hand and then try to keep the bass just as fast? Easy way to learn to play in 32nds.

I got a 16x16 floor tom for my set yesterday. yay.

playing metal with a classical percussionist is awesome. Even he can't play his 32s on double bass anymore, his handwork is still frighteningly good.

Awesome indeed, especially if he mixes in some of his classical influences. How do you mean he can't play 32s on double bass? Everyone with footmotion can do that, it just depends on the tempo you pick.

Here's one from me, if you read it like music, the B on top is a ride cymbal, the F is crash or splash of some sort, the F below the staff is the snare and then the D on the bottom is the kick drum.



I use this in one of our songs before going into a blast beat. It's good fun, and pretty damn easy.

How are you peoples doubles and singles today? Does anyone here use Moeller? I'm practising Moeller triplets RrrRrrRrr and LllLllLll (lefts are a LOT faster as I use traditional grip) And then doing the triplets with left and right at the same time, to make sure all bounces are just as high. Then phasing them off like this: RLrlrlRLrlrlRLrlrl, and Finally I want to get em like this: RlrLrlRlrLrlRlrLrl, but I first need to get the previous stream into my automatic pilot.

Jojo Mayer doing Moeller stuff, I can get my left to do that pumping motion he shows like he does, but my right needs to speed up.

nah we were doing some fast shit and he couldn't do more than 16ths without getting a cramp in his leg. But this was after being away frum a drum kit for a bout five years, yo! And he says he'll be up there again soon.
