I'm pretty sure everybody has at least one song that's made them cry (or at least shed a tear) at least once. A song that's just so sad and/or beautiful that they couldn't help shedding a couple tears when listening to it.

So which song(s) have made you do such a thing?

For me, it's Opeth's To Rid the Disease. That piano melody towards the end has to be one of the most beautiful yet melancholy pieces I've ever heard. Two other such songs are Radiohead's The Tourist and the Amnesiac version of Morning Bell (also by Radiohead).

I started crying several times when i first listened to Ayreon's Into the Electric Castle album, mainly on Tunnel of Light, which i later felt a bit embarrassed about doing.

When i first opened this I though it was going to be addressed to noodles.

For me it is Come back to me by ayreon.

Actually, Its that whole block of four songs that end off disc one of the Human Equation. its just El Primo in my opinion, but that may be the result of me listening to them 4906656 times so that it now makes me think of my life. I think that is what makes a song reach that point with a person. Having memories associated with that sad and beautiful song.

I cried when Apollo Creed died in Rocky IV. True story, I was nine and got very impressed with the scene of him falling. I also cried in Short Circuit, when we think the little robot died.

I have never cried listening to a song. I was very close though, listening to Alexander The Great solo. That thing is so beautiful I almost cry from the happiness.

Mars Volta - Televators makes me cry or almost cry every time I hear it because I watched the video like 10 times the day my dog died =\

Also Clint Mansell - Summer Overture (from Requiem for a Dream) made me cry the first time I heard it on its own.

I've never cried just because of a sad and/or beautiful riff or melody. There are however some songs that I really try to avoid when I'm feeling down. Cathedral's cover of "Solitude" for example, that song just sucks the life out of me. I must also say that Ana's Song (Open Fire) by Silverchair hits me pretty hard. It's about anorexia and one of my friends has been through that.

She has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard! Her cover of "Fields of Gold" is stunning![/quote]

You are not the only one. Human Equation is full of "criers" and that block that you mention brings chills up my spine just remembering about it! An amazing album.

Pink Floyd's The Wall is also an album that totally breaks me down. If you start it from the begining and listen through the whole it's impossible not to be moved, especially if you pay attention and understand how the lyrics enhance the music and vice versa. It's hard not to cry when you listen to "The Trial".

Then people might also cry because a song is "that" goood and not necessarily because it's sad. Iron Maiden's Hallowed Be Thy Name is an example. It's so fucking awesome that sometimes I cry from joy when I listen to this song.

Generally, I admit I cry to many many songs. It doesn't happen with movies or any other kind of media but with music it's different. I'm not ashamed of it but I always prefer to be alone when it happens.

I cried twice when I watched The Lion King. But I can't help but have my eyes full whenever I see that scene in which Simba's dad dies. I've watched the movie 4 times . As for songs that have brought tears to my eyes, there is just one. Sarah Williams by Jacob's Dream.

I almost broke the computer after playing a 2v2 game in the frozen throne against two level 20 and i was with a level 25 (me being just 18) we were winning but towards the end i kept on lagging so i got disconnected.
I think that was the last W3 game i ever played.

The song that most recently made me shed a tear was Szamár Madár by Venetian Snares. I especially like singing along at the end. That's probably my favorite song from Rossz. :dio:

Another 2 songs are Heart Attack In A Layby and Collapse The Light Into Earth by Porcupine Tree.

Burzum - A Lost Forgotten Sad Spirit (and some other works)

Beautiful, beautiful music.
