This is the thread where you say what you wish your favourite band or musician should do to make them even more awesome.

I reckon Bruce Dickinson should record an accoustic album, because every accoustic song he does kicks arse.

Therion should make an album (in their current style) without all the pompous classical trappings.

I think Day Without Dawn should get Matt Lupo and Mike Somers to come back, but keep their current drummer... so they would have like 2 drummers and 3 guitarists/singers... that would kick so much ass.

Napalm Death should get another guitarist. One good, two better.

Iced Earth should get Barlow back

Jon Nödtveidt should rise from the dead and reincarnate Dissection, so he can do another comeback, and get it right this time around! :dio:

Can you imagine though, if he made a new one though and it made reinkaos look good

Dodheimsgard should reclaim their orignal line up and go back to the style of monumental possesion and stop wearing blue paint all over their bodies.

Borknagar should kick Vintersorj to the curb and recruit Fiery G. Maelstrom again.

Garm is through with Metal entirely. He says he has no passion for making Metal music anymore. It was an outlet for him in his younger years and he has moved on.

Yes, and that makes Garm a pussy!

I can't stand the Vintersorg era of Borknagar, so I'd settle for the return of Vortex.

For sure, I love Vortex's voice and Demon Burger sure as hell isn't doing anything worthwhile with it. Ah well, we can always watch him dress up like Jack Sparrow over in Arcturus.

As for Garm, I'd rather him not make anything Metal than get the ineveitably subpar performance he would give at this point.

Dream Theater should say they were disappointed with Octavarium and release an album on par with Images & Words again. :]

Damn, how did i miss the news on that, anyways, I am sure if he did vocals on a New Borknagar album, it could still rock as hard as the olden domain.

Im not a real big fan of Dream Theater, but i thought Oct. had much better songs than most of their releases. real songs, rather than songs wrapped around jams.
My favorite DT album is scenes from a memory, but if they had cut the album down to like, 20 minutes, it would be a gem, as it is, its only ok to me.

Vintersorg is a great vocalist, though i havent heard any Borknagar with him singing.

Seriously, wtf? Why the hell is vortex even in Demon Burger?

Octavarium had some gems on it, but damn some of the songs just sound whiny and stupid. I wanna know what the hell went through their minds when they recorded "These Walls" and made them say "Yeah, this is a good song" ...'Cuz the lyrics are horrible. And the music is really really sub-par for too. Not just for Dream Theater, I would expect better of any Prog band, really.

And Scenes From A Memory is my favorite besides Images & Words. I didn't like it that much at first, but the more I listen to it, the more wonderful it becomes. :dio:

DT's my favorite band as well...yeah, I agree, Octavarium wasn't really on par with the rest of their discography, although The Root of All Evil and the title track are both excellent.

Scenes from a Memory and Images & Words are tied for my favorites, then Train of Thought, then Awake. All of 'em are amazing, although I haven't listened to Awake nearly as much as the others...a lot of people say it's their favorite album by DT, though.

Anyways, it sounds like their new CD is going to be more on the heavy side with a lot of crazy instrumentation. I guess I hope they make something as good all around as Scenes from a Memory--although I love I&W just as much, that CD really had it all.

Check out Quintessence, it has a strong Prog vibe to it, and the song Colossus is simply breath-taking.
