Meh. Sounds exactly the same as the stuff on Are You Dead Yet?. Just a bit of dumb fun and some shredding. Its alright i guess.

The solo starting at about 2:45 is great tho!

Thanks to Bam's efforts, CKY, Bloodhound Gang, and Clutch will finally be getting some well-deserved exposure. Looks like their many years of struggling to make it in the underground are starting to pay off.

[edit] I reread the article and I guess it didn't say what I was trying to rip on it for. My bad

But I will $ubmit that thi$ ha$ nothing to do with expo$ing hi$ peer$ to high-energy original mu$ic or whatever he $aid. But we already know that.

Dude... do you not remember that summer when the song "Bad Touch" raped the airwaves non-stop... i think that Bloodhound Gang have had enough exposure. i do dig their old stuff though "i wish i was queer so i could get chicks" is hilarious.

So boring I shut it off halfway through and put Muse back on.

I wonder (or at least could only hope) if the Scandanavian bands that have gone this drop-D "chugga chugga" route over the last few years would drop this shite if they knew that nu-metal has largely fallen out of favor (at least here in the states)

I listened to Are You Dead Yet tonight randomly and I think its actually pretty good. Like an entire album of Steve Vai's "Bad Horsie"

Um, yeah. Name one nu-metal band that sounds like Children Of Bodom, please.

New track's not bad.

Drop D Tuning automatically equals "Nu-Metal", duh. It's the same reason why people say stupid shit like Exodus' Shovel-Headed Kill Machine isn't true Thrash Metal.

They traded in neo-classical styled riffs for straight-forward "chugga chugga" riffs and traded in mystical/serial killer lyrics for "I gon' fight u!", but they're definitely not taking influence from nu-metal!

So do you think In Flames has also not gone down the nu path either?

Hey, thanks. I am well aware Drop D can be properly utilized into good metal, however such use is few and far between

Children of Bodom have never been anything more than beginner's Metal and a personal wank-fest for Alexi Laiho anyways. Alexi's work has always been better in bands like Thy Serpent and Impaled Nazarene where people sobered him up and calmed him down. Shredders generally don't make for good songwriters.

Soundtrack To Your Escape may have had nu-metally bits, but Come Clarity doesn't.

CoB's lyrics have never been good and Are You Dead Yet has just as complex riffs as any of their previous albums, except instead of just doing that all the time in a giant wankfest they actually have dynamics and write songs.

Buh, both are pretty derivative, but Metalcore's really bugging the fucking shit out of me as it stands. Thousands of bands, and only a handful worth hearing. If I hear another shit-boring chugga-chug-chug breakdown, I'm gonna lose my damn mind.
