I couldn't disagree more. This album is a frustarrting waste of time. there are some great thrash moments spread across the album, but the whole experience is ruined by both Padden's unbelievably awful voice and Waters' apparent inability these days to go three songs in a row without some dreadful mallcore-ism rearing its manky head.

After all the great press this was getting it goes down as one of the biggest disappointments of 2005 for me.

Isn't something missing in the review?
Where is the genre definition???

Ok I now is obvious that is gonna be "thrash metal", but anyway...

Annihilator's entire career can be summed up with that one sentence. Two great albums, one excellent double-live album, and a long streak of mediocrity.

I agree... But for me, the third album, Set the world on Fire, is very good... Not as good as Alice in Hell or Never Neverland, but a good album. The album, King Of The Kill, is where the downfall started.

So for me, your sentence can be written as:

I find this one slighty better than All for One... but it's not difficult to do something better than that.

Is that the live album with Comeau? I've been meaning to check it out.

If I could cull the good songs from every post NNL Anni album I could make maybe two more excellent discs.

It indeed is. It's called Double Live Annihilation. Joe Comeau is one of the reasons it's so good.

I actually thought this one was alright. Less than an 80, but better than most of the rest of their discography.

Seems like there's no true Annihilator fans around, except me ofc :D, so I just disagree to most what is said here.

I'd sum up Annihilator as: a couple of superb albums, couple of very good ones, couple of goods and a couple of ok's. The ok's would be at least Remains and All For You, both have moments but as a whole were disappointing. I'm not sure how'd I rate some of the newer ones coz I have't sinked in to them that much...

Anyway I have this probably as no1 on my to-buy-list now. I was actually on my way to buy it long ago, but they were soldout at the shop and no more did came on time... So now I have to order it as I will include it on my next order...

Actually, I loved this album, and I think it has true thrashing all over it. I like the vocals and this CD is awesome to drive. I thought it was much more interesting than the Exodus or Kreator last albums. It's a shame people don't see it like this... oh well...

So I came across this album the other day for $4. I said What the Hell. My oh my, I really don't know what to think of this. It has some really good riffs, and Jeff always plays great solos. the vocalist can actually sing, and yet opts to sing in this weird tone that doesn't suit him at all. I even found the first 3 songs to be pretty decent. Then they ruin perfectly good songs like Plasma Zombies(dumb lyrics BTW) with these horrid melodic breakdowns that sound like fucking Emocore. Or they do overblown chorus' with Jeff singing background vox in a tone that just has to be a fucking joke. Like Pride, which is a pretty good Thrashy tune, but the chorus sounds like a damn Killswitch Engage song. Then there's Like Father, Like Gun which is a pretty good tune, but it sounds more like Corrosion of Conformity than Annihilator. There's also just complete garbage like Something Witchy that is downright unlistenable. I just plain don't understand this album, it shows a lot of promise, but the promise gets covered in a nasty layer of trying to modernize the sound and failing miserably at it. just write a Thrash album Jeff, you suck ass at Metalcore.

What has Jeff come to? I don't get it. This is even more frustrating than the metal+electronica period (Remains).

Egads! I paid $2 for that piece of filth and still felt ripped off.

There was a great return-to-the-roots period that started with Criteria for a Black Widow, but the last two albums make me want to cry

I'd just like to reiterate what I said above, but this time I'm spelling "frustrating" properly.
