I think that if you were to take part in some of the discussions on this board, you will find Kamelot is not very original at all (I'm not saying The Black Halo is bad). You will also find that your list of top bands is not diverse, but rather generic. Don't take offense to this, b/c everybody has been in this state of mind before. Stick around and learn from some of the other people on this board. You will find music you didn't even know existed.
I don't take offense because I know I'm new. And I have heard some of Queensrythe and others, but I just really wasn't able to latch on. But to me, Kamelot just seems to have a certain feel that the others weren't able to achieve. Maybe some of their songs are inspired by pieces of Queensrythe, but they have a lot of diversity, so much that its hard to pin them to one group. It may even be an amalgamation of many groups, but that can be original in its own sense, and I haven't heard anyone like them yet...
And all I know is I've been told that they were diverse, but, hell, each of them have their own feeling, most bands do if they aren't ripping off another.

And, yeah, the whole bloated thing. That's why I never liked Nights of Arabia. I know that may be one of Khan's most powerful vocal performances, but it just doesn't feel right...
