No I'm saying IF they tried something different everyone would bitch and moan. It seems that you still get some complaints though when a band keeps down a familiar path as well.

But you can't please everyone.

Sorry, should have worded myself better. Like I said I've yet to hear it I was just simply making that comment. I will be getting the album though, I'm not like a die hard fan or anything but I enjoyed the other 2 I have.

Ok but BIOWs was a big change for them and now a lot of people here list it as their favourite Drudkh album. If anything BIOWs was a more mainstream album than this in terms of its style.

Autumn Aurora is really all I need by Drudkh, it's the perfect expression that they were trying to achieve.

if I was them I would have started a new band after AA, heh.

Interesting there are so many replies to this, when Songs Of Grief went virtually unnoticed...

There's not much to say. Recycled material from their earlier records lacking the bombast that the drums lend to the otherwise good riffs, that just don't work as well on their accoustic own. Very dissapointing in my opinion, especially because my anticipation was very high.

I think that this is a great record. I can understand why some people might find it too samey, but I think they should listen more thoroughly. There is plenty of that Drudkh feeling in here. The "a step sideways rather than a step forward"-sentence in the review really sums up my thoughts.

My favourite Drudkh is Forgotten Legends.. No competition.
