Now that i think about it... why the hell di this album get only an 80? It deserves at least a 90or more!

Hah, I fully agree. This is a definite favorite for me. I don't listen heavily to death metal, especially modern death metal, but when I do it's usually this.

BAH! I knew if I waited too long to pick up that copy of Winds of Creation that ONE other kid in Denver that listens to death metal would find it and snatch it away. So I had them order me a copy and I eagerly await its arrival. It's an odd little cd shop I have found... at first glance it seemed nothing more than a head shop, with that punget smell of cannabis hanging in the air, and hip hop blasting so loudly you can't even remember what the hell you came in for. And then, out of the corner of my eye, there it was like some misplaced oasis... the section cearly marked METAL in bold red Old English.

Aspera Heims Symfonia, Transilvanian Hunger, A Blaze in the Northern Sky, The 10th Sub Level of Suicide...."What the FUCK is going on here?" I thought. Since when is there actually metal in the metal section? Usually when I walk into a place and ask where the metal is, they point me to some darkened cobweb-covered corner, occupied by one lone shelf where there is always some guy pissed off that all the good Primus albums are gone.

Uh, yea so anyway, They had Organic Hallucinosis and I picked it up without a second thought. After just discovering Decapitated about a month ago I have become hooked. When you are just plain old psychotically pissed off about something what could be better?

I've only played it through the one time but there are some pretty noticable differences right away. Well mostly the vocals, they are much more understandable then before with Covan doing more of a Slayeresque shout than an inhuman growl. There is also some lyrical changes, there is actually some narrative going on and not just solitary phrases nonsensically slammed together. I was noticing that some of the riffs seemed to be off somehow. I don't know shit about time signatures or anything, but there was a definately a disjointed "off" feeling to alot of it which was cool. The production is sleek and sexy as hell. Overall I'm pretty happy with it so far. But like their other albums, it is too goddamn SHORT, oh and can we get more solos pleeeeeeeeeease??

Wow, that sounds like an absolutely magical place.

As for the new Decapitated...they're dead to me. The riffs are gone, the new vocals are meh, and they used god damned Charles Manson penned lyrics for the first track. How pathetic can you get. Good drumming and soloing is not enough to lean all of this other shit on.

Decapitated has no more right to continue using the name Decapitated than Lux Occulta does.

It's not that bad for a band that didn't release Winds of Creation and Nihility, maybe.

Dude, who the shit are you kidding? A Poem... is the best lead-off track they've had since Perfect Dehumanisation (The Answer?), the riffs are like Destroy Erase Improve-era Meshuggah doing tech-death, and the new vox, while a tad out of place, really grow on you.

I like Organic Hallucinosis quite a bit.

Maybe I'm having trouble with it having the worst lyrics ever and not sounding like Decapitated. At least Negation had that sweet riff in the title track, this album has nothing.

Decapishuggah is not for me.

Hey, if you can't appreciate the sweet riffs in songs like Post?-Organic, Flash B(l)ack, and whatnot... well, less power to you, I suppose.

Decapishuggah rules.

I played organic hallucinosis through a few times today at work, man it gets better every time. There is definately some subtle shit going on in this album. It's very tricky. As far as the new vocal style, it's quite possible that Covan HAD to tone it down a bit and not destroy his vocal chords in five years. Besides, you can actually make out what is being said in alot of places. :o The only album I am lacking now is Winds of Creation which I ordered. So maybe then I will see what Radical Cut is missing so badly. Personally I think this new album kicks all kinds of ass.

The only annoying thing about this band is the stupid faces the vocalist makes in their promo shots. Seriously, we know you're Polish, but that doesn't mean you can't act normally.

Not the kind of armbands you want to use when learning to swim, remember.

Ok what the hell? Is Organic Hallucinosis not getting reviewed either?

Anyway, my copy of Winds of Creation just came in few days ago and right away I can see why Radical Cut gets such a boner over it. Really when you think about it...from Metallica to Children of Bodom, the first album or two a band puts out are usually the most energetic. This would support my theory that most every metal band has to make a transition from Teenaged Idealists to Jaded Old Road Dogs. Again it's just a theroy.

The thing about Winds of Creation, as freaking awesome as it is...well it's basically Morbid Angel on steroids. It's more or less an improvement on music that's already been made. So I can understand why they have gotten away from it. Organic Halucinosis with its bizzare timings is a whole new beast entirely. It distances decapitated from alot of other death metal acts, and in this day and age that's not easy to do.
