Scores are and will allways be almost useless. The system with high scores works well. It will allways end up that way. You allways have to know your stuff when you read a review. I saw that the Drudkh: Swan road got 95 to me it´s 60 and a no buy. But everyone has different taste in music. The score is only a hint. The only important thing is everyone on the site using the same scale so that someone doesn´t start giving 70 for very good becaus that could get an excellent record overlooked by readers. Reviewers allways chase at each other with the scores. Just use the same scale.

I won't, everyone on the forums knows what scale i'm using and that 70/100 is a very good album in my view.

Yeah it works for me now. I backtraced some of your reviews in a new light though. Good to know and the reviews are great.

I really enjoy the guitar tone, which is somewhat similiar to Heaven in Flames. I would call it raw, but still warm, full and thick. And big.

I enjoy the dynamics between and within songs, and I thought the use of electronics was a switch from the usual attempt to be bleak (see 'Venus in Furs' - what a nice suprise). We even have some amazing headbanging moments such as in the latter part of 'Sickening Voices Without Speech' and most of 'Deviant'.

After a few listens, I was no longer describing the albumas brutal. I found it to be very soothing.

A work of art!

Very true, the guitars sound really great, I'd like something along these lines for In Corpore Mortis (my BM band). Raw, but clear. Harsh, but comprehensible. Perfection! :D

Deviant is actually an older song, as it can be found on the Songs For Resistance demo (2001 or 2002, can't remember) and on the live ep Kill Yourself Or Someone You Love (recorded 2002); still, it doesn't feel the least out of place here, as it really fits the morbid atmosphere of the album.

If Krieg keep treading down this path, Blue Miasma will seal their career with a very high note.

Picked this up the other day. Fucking great album, but I don't find it as brutal as some of the people here do. Maybe that's because I'm into grind and drone music that's very hard to listen to, but anyway, a great album. The first step on my pathway towards trve and kvlt black metal!! Great review Daniel, I'll be checking out more stuff by these guys.

Thanks Zad. His previous works are brutal Black/Noise, and well, I'm not really into 'em because it tends to sound quite monontonous.

This album is brutal for Black Metal standards. In fact, I have never found Black Metal to be very agressive or heavy (only a few albums); I mean, Grind and Death are a lot more brutal.

Brutal Black/Noise is good... :) I've heard tracks from a few, including the Patrick Bateman EP, and like it.

I suppose the brutality depends. Marduk are more brutal than most, but aren't that amazing. Agreed that generally grind/death are more brutal, BM has more melody. Then there's bands like Anaal that make the brutality the point....
Anyway, all good stuff, and part of what I like about BM is the journey, finding new bands and sungenres, from avant-garde like Arcturus and Sigh to basic stuff such as Darkthrone. Other genres of metal just aren't the same...

Hate to be a resurrection-man, but this is just fucking amazing. If I'd paid attention to it's existence before this year, it would've been on my top fifteen for 2004.

I just love the manic undercurrent of unadulterated confusion and anger that runs through it; Venus in Furs may be my favorite song for the simple fact that the vocals are emotive without sacrificing an iota of harshness, only being clearer in pronunciation.

Genius.

Amen to that! And great to see you liked it Aaron, although I must admit I overrated the album a bit... :P

PS: I'll read the novel guideline tomorrow and send you a PM, sorry for the delay.

It ain't your job; I didn't hire you to be an editor.

Besides, there's a bunch more stuff I'd need to send you right after you see it, so... well, you'll see when you read it.

Cheers, dude.
