I used to think that female fronted metal bands suffered from an unfortunate tendency to have extremely wimpy music, although Jex Thoth, Blood Ceremony, Reino Ermitano, and The River have reversed most of that prejudice. This sounds cool, reminds me a lot of Sirens of Titan because riffs and similar style singers.

This is pretty different. She sounds like Ann Wilson of Heart sometimes. I can imagine this would be a super fun band to see live. As with most of this type of music for me, it's not come home and play my new favorite song on the album stuff. I saw Jucifer in a small bar by my house last year and it was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. I don't listen to Jucifer much at all, but live they were quite captivating; and loud, so very loud. I had ear plugs in and my ears were messed up for a week. I was actually worried I would lose my hearing.

You're right about seeing them live. I'm spending the summer in Portland and heard them at a bar a couple of weeks ago opening for Slough Feg, and they were so kickass I decided I needed to buy and review their album. I wonder if I should have mentioned that in the review; it almost definitely colored my experience of the record.
