I must say I was suprised Over The Mountain was indicated as a weak song. Fantastic guitar playing of course and a rather quirky yet simple main riff before the amazing extended guitar lines start.

And it is not Sarzo and Aldridge. There was a widely publicised lawsuit by Daisley and Kerslake, as they wrote and played all the rhythm section arrangements. I mean it is obvious when listening to the album that it is Daisley playing bass.

A little bit more research needed at MR at the moment.

The Coroner review was somewhat shallow as well.

And metaldaze you were pretty much on the money in my opinion just don't get personal.

The only problem you pointed out with my Coroner review was:

A. You liked No More Colour better.
B. I was wrong about the bass.

Both of those are subjective, especially considering that the example you used to prove yourself correct concerning the Coroner was from No More Colour.

Not only that, but this sort of nitpicking is really not at all constructive. Everyone makes little errors, deal with it.

The score seems reasonable to me. But I'm definitely with those who consider Over the Mountain to be a great song, I think it's a much better song and opener than I Don't Know. And yes, the title-track is an absolute classic. Overall I prefer it to Blizzard of Ozz, mostly because it's a little darker and the guitar playing was even better.

This is just an opinion, but I think Ozzy sucks balls, the recent events surrounding him and Maiden only further lower my already low opninion of this talentless hack. How many times is he going to latch himself onto a good guitarist and ride the fucking wave?? I hope he loses his voice for good and can't ruin metal anymore.

If anything, Ozzy is a Metal legend. He was vastly influential to the genre, so saying he's ruining Metal is highly innacurate. Sharon is the cause for all the bullshit lately, don't blame Ozzy.

Over the Mountain and SATO are weak songs? Damn, I've got very bad taste in music. When I heard Over the Mountain for the first time it changed my life from someone not interested in music and with no knowledge of playing a guitar to quite the opposite in a matter of months. Considering that I still listen to this style of music, this album changed my life. That's some powerful stuff. Now I find out that the song that started it all is weak. And one of my other favorite songs is boring too. No wait, these aren't bad songs, it's just your review that's bad.

I totally agree love SATO an Over the Mountin (in between the ups an downs) an even Little Dolls is cool, Diary of a Madman smokes. I couldn't believe reaing that either.

A couple of posts expressed support for my views. And just to be clear, I never attacked the reviewer. I said the review was weak, but never called the reviewer a name. What the reviewer said about some songs on Diary of a Madman was more offensive than what I said. I think the problem here is that perhaps this is a close knit family of regulars whose first response to an outsider's criticism is to defend one another. And getting back to Diary. I made it clear that this CD and Over the Mountain in particular changed my life. So I am very, very partial to this CD, it has great sentimental value, and I can become easily excited in my defense of it. And if Over the Mountain is a weak song, then what is a great song? Anyway, by calling the song weak, a song that so clearly rocks, it was bound to rattle some feathers. I am the first person to respond negatively, but I am sure others read this review and had the same thoughts I expressed. But not everybody takes the time to get involved. I don't believe I did anything wrong and I never insulted the reviewer, only the review.

Well to nitpick again I would say the Kerslake/Daisley thing was the big oversight. But hey you put the stuff out there , deal with the comments. And I would argue informing people of the truth is generally regarded as constructive.

And I would argue that most of the 'truth' you're putting out there is subjective, such as the 'truth' you put out in this thread, earlier on.

The Daisley and Kerslake thing is useful, I would agree with you on that.
