I haven't liked anything since Kiske and Hansen left but I'm willing to give it a listen. I just don't like the Keeper title being used without those two even envolved, they were the main part of the sound for the Keeper albums.

Incorrect. Weikath played a big role in II, I believe, writing a good majority of the songs.

Notice how he said "a major part of the sound," not "they were completely Helloween." Weikath wrote four songs on Keeper II, not a good majority, by the way.

Pffft! Notice how he actually said "the main part of the sound" which essentially means Weikath's contributions weren't as great.

1. Invitation 01:06 (Weikath/Hansen)
2. Eagle Fly Free 05:08 (Weikath)
3. You Always Walk Alone 05:08 (Kiske)
4. Rise And Fall 04:20 (Weikath)
5. Dr. Stein 05:03 (Weikath)
6. We Got The Right 05:07 (Kiske)
7. March Of Time 05:13 (Hansen)
8. I Want Out 04:39 (Hansen)
9. Keeper Of The Seven Keys 13:38 (Weikath)

I would have to say Weikath was the MAIN contributor to this album, wouldn't you?

This album is truly great, all songs are just fantastic.
And the choirs in king for 1000 years are very good.

On the other hand one of my favorite Helloween albums (from the Andy Deris era) is the Dark Ride, every song on it is just out of this world. And this CD is as good.

Well, I'd agree with that. Besides Eagle Fly Free, the best songs on the album, from You Always Walk Alone to March of Time, are all Kiske/Hansen songs. There's no question that Weikath's songs are quite good though, just not as good as Hansen/Kiske.

Nay, I'd say he's about on par with Kiske and Hansen.

Are you serious? Let's see...not including the intro (which Weikath had a hand in writing):

Weikath contributed 50% of this album.
Hansen contributed 25% of this album.
Kiske contributed 25% of this album.

Who's the main contributor?

Weikath, though if you'll notice, Jonas lumped Kiske/Hansen together. Therefore, on those terms, you'll notice that they wrote more than half the album, since you left out "Save Us" on your list (I knew there were more than 9 songs...), a Hansen song.

add Save Us to my above post then. The 3 songs of Save Us, March Of Time and I Want Out are the best parts of the album........... the last song too.

That I most certainly agree with, though I've always loved You Always Walk Alone quite a lot as well.

"Save Us" is a bonus track. It doesn't count. You can't lump two people together and compare them to one. Sorry. And even lumping them together it's an equal contribution, 50/50, including the intro.

Weikath is great. End of story! =)

Save Us is a bonus track? Thats news to me. It was on the original version of the album and is song number seven, and besides that it is incredibly awesome. And I certainly agree that Weikath was awesome. However, Jonas's view is certainly more than applicable; he mainly liked the Keeper albums for the Kiske/Hansen songs. Thats all.

As far as I recall it's a bonus track, not on the original. I'd prove you wrong, but all my CDs are in storage until my house is ready on the 30th. It's not listed on Helloween's site as being on the CD.

I don't know...I'm pretty sure it's a bonus track on my copy.

This album just keeps on growing on me. Yes, definitely better than the last Gamma Ray. There're a few fillers, but songs like King for 1000 years, Silent Rain, The invisible man etc make me forgive those. BTW, Light the universe is a kick-ass ballad, and one of the highlights of this album, it would just be poorer without it.

Save Us was a "cd and tape" bonus in the 80's. So it wasnt on the original LP issue but is on every cd and tape since release.

So we'll meet in the middle then. Weikath rules, Hansen and Kiske...meh...they're OK! :D

I've heard that Dark Ride is a really good album. I'll have to buy it (as well as Legacy) next time I get the chance. I do seriously doubt that their song "Mirror Mirror" can come even close to the Blind Guardian track of the same name.
