Listening now. I really don't understand all the praise for these vocals. You can barely even hear them they're so buried, and on top of that he double tracks them (sometimes more you say). What impresses me is when a vocalist doesn't hide under the mix, and doesn't need to double/triple track his vocals to sound passable.

A very, VERY good album. But, for some reason this one only works for me occasionally. Sometimes this one sounds very boring and dull, but on other times this one just like blows me away!

Well, usually the mix isn't the vocalist's competence: besides, I don't really believe he needs to multi-layer his vocals to sound passable (I've seen him live with Marduk, he's a bit static on stage but vocal-wise the man is a brute force unleashed upon mankind), rather to to give them more depth and expression. It's not that uncommon, and I certainly prefer double tracking over crappy electronic effects or various other cheesy studio manipulations.

This album is amazing. I listened to it on my ipod while laying in bed, and wow, it was just amazing. Anyways, thats the way I shall listen to black metal from now on, on headphones.

Well, I'm not saying he's a terrible faggot for it or anything. I just think the praise is a bit much given the circumstances.
